New starters can do there induction before they arrive on their first day.

facilitators, and even though the package will be the same - the person delivering the course will always
have a different point of view. The advantage of an online system is we are creating a standardised message
that is important to you and that same message is being delivered to every staff member exactly the same

4. From a legislative perspective
In accordance with the Victorian Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 as an employer we must;
Division 2—Main duties of employers
(1)
An employer must, so far as is reasonably practicable, provide and maintain for employees of
the employer a working environment that is safe and without risks to health.
(2)
Without limiting sub-section (1), an employer contravenes that sub-section if the employer
fails to do any of the following—
(a) Provide or maintain plant or systems of work that are, so far as is reasonably practicable,
safe and without risks to health;
(b) Make arrangements for ensuring, so far as is reasonably practicable, safety and the
absence of risks to health in connection with the use, handling, storage or transport of plant
or substances;
(c) Maintain, so far as is reasonably practicable, each workplace under the employer’s
management and control in a condition that is safe and without risks to health;
(e) Provide such information, instruction, training or supervision to employees of the
employer as is necessary to enable those persons to perform their work in a way that is safe
and without risks to health.
(d) Provide, so far as is reasonably practicable, adequate facilities for the welfare of employees
at any workplace under the management and control of the employer;
Penalty: 1800 penalty units for a natural person;
9000 penalty units for a body corporate.

6. Available training courses
Induction (Tailored to suit your business needs and what is important to you).
This can be a 5 page online course or a 100 online course and it is entirely up to you, we can
use your existing package or you can choose one of the BBC templates and customise that to
suit your business needs. You can use a ‘ready to go’ BBC template and leave it at that. Either
way we can help you meet your obligations!
Manual Handling (In Australia, all employees exposed to a manual handling risk, must be
trained every 12 months).
You can use generalised package and this can be done online or we can customise it to suit
the specific risks involved in your business. Not all companies have the same manual handling
risk that is requires being told how to lift a box, however yours might. A risk assessment will
be done first to understand the risk involved in your business then the training designed to
mitigate that risk. This approach will assist you in meeting your legal obligations as well as
make a safer workplace.
Safety in the Workplace for Supervisors and Middle Management.
Developed to assist Supervisors and middle management in understanding their obligations
under current legislation. This will also give the participant some tools and techniques in how
to manage safety in their workplace including risk management and incident response. This
course can be customised to utilise safety management policies and procedures that you
might have or know of. Can be implemented off the shelf or customised as you wish.
