Belgium has three main geographical regions - coastal plains in the northeast, a central plateau, and the Ardennes forest in the southeast. The culture of Belgium strongly resembles Flemish culture and relies on imports, though it is also the world's diamond capital. Customs include passing embroidered handkerchiefs representing family lineages from mother to daughter through generations. Belgium has an annual cat festival where cats are paraded and taken seriously, and Belgians pride themselves on their cuisine.
