The BecomeOlympian story was launched after presenting survey results to hoteliers in Olympia, Greece. The survey found that visitors wanted activities to prolong their stay. In response, Ancient Olympia's Hotel Union began offering free accommodation daily to promote local tourism. This made Ancient Olympia the first destination in Greece and worldwide to offer free lodging to all. The contest website provides information about Olympia and generates publicity to increase visitors and revenue for the region. In the first 60 days, the website saw over 2,000 fans and visitors from 51 countries, achieving the goals of branding Olympia as a destination and revitalizing local tourism.

So we set off with a very simple idea: let’s work with some of London’s hottest arts venues to explore whether it is possible to create and package cultural events as gift experiences.
To test this, we received support from the Digital R&D Fund for the Arts. The fund has been created by Nesta, Arts & Humanities Research Council and public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
We embarked on a year-long project with Dulwich Picture Gallery, Whitechapel Gallery, the Royal Academy of Arts, Design Museum, English National Opera and Barbican. Our lead research partners were Fusion Analytics, the University of Salford and Judge Business School, University of Cambridge.

The city has implemented some sustainable tourism and transportation initiatives, including a wastewater treatment plant, urban indicator system, and sustainable urban mobility plan to promote public transit over private vehicles. However, Thessaloniki also faces challenges like air and noise pollution, lack of green space, and low tourism spending.

Η Ωδή του Κάλβου, Ευχαί (που παραθέτουμε), δημοσιευμένη στα 1826, αποτελεί την απάντηση του και τη στάση του, απέναντι στο αίτημα αποκλειστικής προστασίας του Ελληνικού Έθνους, από την Αγγλία, που αναγκάστηκαν να υπογράψουν οι Έλληνες οπλαρχηγοί, κάτω από κίνδυνο αφανισμού της Πελοποννήσου και της Επανάστασης από τον Ιμπραήμ, τα 1825. Αποτελεί την απάντηση του Κάλβου απέναντι στην προστασία και στους εκάστοτε προστάτες στην ιστορία.
