The Beatles were a pop group formed in Liverpool in the late 1950s originally called the Quarrymen consisting of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Stuart Sutcliffe, and Pete Best. They toured Hamburg, Germany in 1960 where they developed their iconic mop top hairstyles and suits. In 1962, Stuart died and Pete Best was replaced by Ringo Starr. They recorded their first single "Love Me Do" that year. The Beatles went on to massive commercial and critical success in the 1960s, changing pop music and youth culture with their music and style, before breaking up in 1970.
