The Beatles were a famous rock band from Liverpool, Britain that formed between 1957-1960 and consisted of Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, George Harrison, and John Lennon. As the Beatles played more shows in Britain, their popularity skyrocketed and they gained recognition, though their early contracts paid them very little. Their popularity spread to the US in 1963 when the song "She Loves You" took off, and their first visit to America in 1964 saw a crowd of 3,000 screaming fans greet them at the airport.
