Resilience in a time of Change and
Opportunity

Lots of
Things are
Changing
Quickly…
 Edmonton Oilers stand a chance in the 2020
playoffs.
 COVID-19 is spreading quickly and creating a great
many concerns – 23 Alberta Cases, 0 deaths to
date. But worldwide, we have a pandemic with.
 Alberta is in a significant recession –
unemployment in Edmonton now 2nd highest in
Canada (Windsor, Ont. higher) and things look to
be getting worse, not better..
 Education, healthcare, social services and
environmental services (parks) are having to
respond to new challenges and change very
rapidly…it’s a new world..
But there are
other
changes too..
 Our trusted sources for factual information are no
longer reliable…finding what is true, untrue and
total nonsense is getting harder..
 The methods we have used to make decisions
about our careers, our community our education
may not be as good as they used to be..
 The “go to” people that always pointed the way
ahead are no longer sure what is ahead and where
to point..
 The past rules that defined “how the game of life”
is played no longer seem to apply..
Most of
What We
See Is
Based on
How we
See..
You Could Look
At The Present
Situation and
Say..
Right, this is the time for me to do what I have
always wanted to do – a clean break with the
past and a fresh start for the future,,
I can do really well here…it’s a great time to buy
property, invest in the market, think about the
future in a positive way – take the long view..
A fantastic time to strengthen my networks,
connections and build new opportunities..
Or You Could
Say..
The situation is hopeless and very
serious, I don’t really know what to
do..
I can’t see this ending well for me..
I feel trapped and can’t get out..
The theory bit..
