Main Benefits:
• Increases battery backup time for outdoor Radio
Base Stations significantly.
• Provides space for traditional (AGM) batteries as
well as large 2 V cell batteries (OPzV)
• Maximizes the RBS cabinet space for transmission
and other equipment.
• The alternative climate systems ensure low cost of
ownership and long battery backup times.
• Available for RBS 6102 in GSM, WCDMA and/or
LTE configurations.
• BBS 6102 can also backup a 2nd and 3rd RBS
cabinet, located in the vicinity of the BBS.

Improvement potential vs. RBS internal batteries:
• Battery backup times are improved thanks to:
* More available space for batteries, I.e. more
capacity possible.
* The optional BBS compartment heater ensures that
battery capacity is not lost due to cold temperatures
• Recommended applications:
* RBS 6102 with many radio shelves
* Long backup time requirements
* Support needed for more than one RBS cabinet
* Diesel/Battery Hybrid applications
• To secure future growth, the battery capacity in the BBS
6102 can be extended by connection to one additional BBS
6102.

Installation
Installation:
• Can be placed directly on even ground surface. No
need to provide a raised plinth.
• The accompanying lifting lugs are easily mounted to
the cabinet roof and removed after installation.
• Cable access possible to both sides of the cabinet,
as well as underneath the cabinet.
• Default Roxtec® cable lead-in on right side. This lead-
in can easily be moved to the cabinet interior, facing
down towards the ground for ground-routed cabling.
• The selected cooling cassette slides is installed in the
upper right area.

Operation
Operation:
• Vandal proof. Only accessible via unlocked front door.
• System supervision and control is executed by the
connected RBS/RBSs. Thermally controlled charging
for optimum battery performance.
• Alarms: Door alarm and Climate Unit alarm.
• Climate Unit LEDS:
* 3 x visible LEDs: Power On / Normal Operation / CLU Fail
* Additional LEDs under CLU cover for trouble-shooting
• All components easily accessible with opened door.
