 How you manage your employees is a good
indicator of company performance. Their satisfaction
or dissatisfaction will be evident in the quality of
their work. This does not need to be an uphill task
especially if you start with the right basics.

 First and foremost you need to be very careful about the
quality of the employees you employ in your
organization. Once you are sure that you have got the
best candidate for the job, the next thing is to ensure that
the pay package you are offering is competitive enough
and that they will not be poached by competitors or leave
because the pay is more attractive elsewhere.

 Employees must feel that they have ownership in a
company and should be able to give out suggestions
without being criticized. Where the lines of
communication to the employers are available, it
creates an ideal working environment.

 It will be easier to manage your employees better
because, they feel that their inputs and suggestions
are welcomed. Respect in the workplace is also very
important and should work both ways with each
individual giving the other what is due to them.

 An employer needs to describe job descriptions well. He
also needs to know their strengths and weaknesses so that
he understands their limitations. Also, appreciating work
done well ensures that you have motivated staff who will
prove as assets to your organization.

 It is said that the best way to lead is by example;
your staff need to see you motivated and
hardworking so that they can be able to try and
match your input to the company or organization.

 It is also important to treat your employees fairly
without favoritism of any kind so that you do not
end up with disgruntled employees who can prove
very trying to manage. Fairness should be applied
across the board and rules and regulations should
apply to every member of that organization.

 Moreover, it is advisable to enquire about the
personal lives of your employees such as the health
of a loved one or a child's progress in school. When
you make a genuine inquiry about this family
member it shows that you care about your
employees, their families, and their welfare.

