1. Sadie Paradiuk
This is a medium shot of Beyonce. With the dress she is wearing, her
chest and ribs are showing, this could be seen as provocative to the
audience. She is wearing a red dress; people could see this as a
symbol of love, or possible danger. The colour red could represent
wealth, which has a huge representation in the RnB community. The
background is white which makes you focus more on Beyonce.
In this image, if you were to put a line
down the middle, it would be very even
on both sides, this is a formal use of
symmetry, and more of a portrait image.
This type of photograph is often how
bands have their pictures took. The
colour used in the photograph is all very
much the same tone, and almost a sepia
effect, which makes the image look old
and authentic.
The Smith’s photo is also very much
like Kings of Leon’s as the use of
informal symmetry is used, creating a
very even photo. The main person in
the band is in the foreground of the
picture, showing he is the front man.
The fact the picture is black and white
is very classic and retro.
2. Sadie Paradiuk
This is a medium shot of Rihanna; she has a
strapless top on, showing most of her skin, which is
rather revealing. By the colours in the image and
her jewellery, it shows her ethnicity and
background. With this image there is informal
symmetry as either side of the photograph isn’t
equal.
This close-up of Kanye West is black and white
which is classic, again like The Smiths photo. The
fact he isn’t looking straight at the camera is
mysterious as the audience would want to know
what he is looking at. The composition of the photo
is very good; although it isn’t balanced the image
still works well.
This photography does not portray any form of
symmetry as there are 2 people on one side, and 1
person on the other, therefore the picture is
unbalanced. The main singer is almost left out from
the band as he is stood on his own. The
background of the image, being bricks is quite
urban, showing they are from an urban area. Also
the colours in the photograph are quite retro, and
it’s as if the image has been edited on Photoshop
to make the colours dim.
