Giuseppe Moscati was a Catholic physician born in Italy in 1880 who dedicated his life to serving the poor and sick. Pope John Paul II, born Karol Wojtyła in 1920 in Poland, was chosen as Pope in 1978. In 1981, he was shot by Mehmet Ali Agca but survived. He suffered from Parkinson's disease in his later years. John Paul II died in 2005 at the age of 84 after spending two months in the hospital, with many people mourning his passing. He was a respected figure who could serve as a role model.

Mother teresa of calcutta saint
Mother Teresa was born in 1910 in Skopje, Macedonia and joined the Sisters of Loreto order in 1928. In 1937, she took her vows and taught in Calcutta, India. In 1946, she had a calling to help the poor and destitute on the streets of Calcutta. She founded the Missionaries of Charity in 1950 to care for the poor and sick. Over the following decades, she expanded the order globally and opened hospices, schools, and orphanages. Mother Teresa received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 and was later canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church in recognition of her humanitarian work.

Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu was born in 1910 in what is now Albania and Macedonia. She became a Catholic nun and took the name Teresa. In 1950, she founded the Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta, India to help the poor and sick. Over her lifetime, the Missionaries of Charity expanded to care for the poor in over 100 countries. Mother Teresa received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 and was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 2003 for her humanitarian work serving the sick and destitute.

After observing the treatments his brother was receiving, Giuseppe soon was interested in medicine. He went to school and then decided to become a doctor.

- 5. CONTRIBUTIONS Giuseppe was a pioneer in the field of biochemistry and a wonderful professor. He was well-known for his work and contributions to science but he is by far most well known by his contribution to others. Giuseppe was a kind-hearted individual who helped the less fortunate. Being born into an aristocratic family Giuseppe did not have to help these people but chose to. He did not charge them and gave them pills and money too.

- 7. NOTEWORTHY During the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 1906 Giuseppe went and evacuated a nursing home in the endangered area. He personally moved the frail and infirm patients to safety minutes before the roof of the building collapsed. In 1911 during the cholera epidemic he went above and beyond. Giuseppe treated some 3,000 soldiers during World War I.
- 8. UNIQUE It is very unusual to hear of a person who went to a traditional school, a modern one of that, to become canonized. Not only that, his focus of science and medicine isn’t usually honored for sainthood. Giuseppe was a unique case. He showed that a person raised under science can also be spiritual and have as much love and faith as anyone else. Giuseppe’s role is extraordinary. He gave his whole heart to his profession and helping others. He deserves to be a Saint. Reading about him is very inspiring and uplifting. I love seeing how so much good can blossom anywhere.
