This document summarizes a presentation given by the Fairfax County Department of Transportation regarding plans to improve the intersection of Balls Hill Road and Old Dominion Drive. It discusses the existing poor traffic conditions at the intersection, as well as 4 alternatives to improve it: building a T-intersection (Alt A), installing a roundabout (Alt B), adding dedicated turn lanes (Alt C), or improving the T-intersection design (Alt A.1). It provides details on how each alternative would impact traffic flow, costs, property impacts, and presents preliminary cost estimates ranging from $12.1M to $15M. Public feedback on the alternatives was requested by July 13th, with project completion planned for fall 2024.
