This document summarizes a student's bachelor thesis project analyzing teacher perspectives on homework for 7th grade reading assignments. The student interviewed teachers and analyzed over 100 homework plans and reading assignments. Key findings included a focus on proving reading comprehension rather than enjoyment, and few teachers could provide examples of truly good homework. The student's analysis questions the assumed benefits of homework and whether it is given more out of tradition than evidence of learning benefits. The process involved iterative coding, analysis, and refining of the research focus.
