Jeff Putt of Amazon Web Services discussed storage and archiving options on AWS. He outlined common challenges with traditional on-premise storage solutions such as rapidly increasing data growth and high costs. AWS offers scalable cloud storage services like S3, EBS, and Glacier that provide benefits over traditional solutions such as no upfront costs, pay-as-you-go pricing, and the ability to easily scale storage. AWS Storage Gateway also allows hybrid storage solutions by extending on-premise storage infrastructures to AWS cloud storage.
