This document introduces ANYSOLABS, a web-based platform for research and laboratory management. It allows users to manage projects, documents, equipment, orders, stocks, users and more. The platform aims to bring research and laboratory routines onto a computer to allow information to be stored indefinitely, continuously updated, organized and systematically accessed depending on user authorization levels. It is designed to increase productivity and quality for research laboratories by integrating various processes, procedures, projects, reports and other activities into a single system.

2. INTRODUCTION
ANYSOLABS provides a robust and flexible solution to manage your research and
related activities. ANYSOLABS is a personalized web based platform idealized for
Research and Laboratory Management. This platform was developed to bring
Research and/or Laboratory routines to the computer allowing the information to be
stored unlimitedly, continuously updated, organized and systematically accessed
according to authorization levels. ANYSOLABS is the ideal tool for the Research
Laboratories that want to implement a Quality System.
Research and/or laboratory routines and activities involves processes, procedures,
protocols, projects, reports, registry, budgets, orders, stocks, etc... ANYSOLABS
platform brings all together in one single place helping Research Laboratories to
increase productivity and quality.

4. USER MANAGEMENT
 Users Management, is a module transversal to the entire platform and one of its main core modules, that
allows the complete management of the users.
 Identify and control the users logged into the platform
 Regular user can edit and manage its own profile
 Administrators can edit advanced properties of each user
 Intermediate level users, such as Supervisors/Project leaders can submit “New Users Requests” for a
moderated (by the administrators) addition to the database.
 The belonging groups defines each users access profile and Supervisors/Project leaders define the connection
between each researcher and its superior.
 The work timeframe defines the period of work of each researcher and it is used to restrict the access to the
platform and the laboratories after entering the permanence period.

5. DOCUMENTS MANAGEMENT
Filter
 Organization and numbering control of documents according to ISO 9001:2008
 All documents created from an updated, empty, numbered and well formatted template
 Complete control of all documents/templates versions uploaded into the platform
 Record of the old versions
 Download only of the latest version of either each document or the respective template
 General docs and its templates can be uploaded in several formats (doc, docx, xls, xlsx, pdf)
 For Procedures (require a more restricted version control) it includes an online document creation tool with
an intuitive word like interface with special characters, tables, graphics and images

6. PROJECTS MANAGEMENT
 One of the major modules, that allows the management of the research projects and all the
research plans designed under its scope
 Individual Research Plans that are small projects plans defined by/for each researcher that
includes a research plan and a complete budget for its execution
 Using this budget, researchers can submit/register orders requests

7. PROJECTS MANAGEMENT
 Ongoing and Previous projects with all the information regarding each project.
 Statistical data of the project expenses, a list of all the expenses and all the Research Plans
under its scope
 Each research plan has its project scope and all this information can be gathered in each main
Project allowing the Administrators and Project PI to have a full control over the expenses
on each project and the research itself by accessing each Individual Research Plan online
log and the final report of each plan.

8. EQUIPMENTS & LABS MANAGEMENT
 Complete equipment profile, status, maintenance, calibration, etc...
 Equipment and facilities booking using Google® Calendar API (users can easilly sync with their
own calendar)
 Status registered on change creating a log timeline (ISO 9001:2008)
 Maintenance and calibration periods defined for each equipment
 Automatic annual Calibration and Maintenance Plan generation
 EOP (Equipment Operating Procedures) can be associated to each equipment and be
available for users (*)

9. EQUIPMENT TRAINING
 Training management
 This tool allows each researcher to request
training on any equipment
 Training request can be accepted or rejected
 Upon approval by the equipment responsible a
trainer and a training date is defined
 On positive evaluation a certificate is emitted
and the researcher is added to the authorized
users list.

10. ORDERS MANAGEMENT
 Orders Management module allows the complete management of the orders made by the organization
 Each Researcher requests an order under each research plan
 Order request is then controlled by the Lab Manager
 Orders request can be shared by several researchers to divide the products and to reduce the imputed costs
 Upon verification by the Lab Manager orders can be grouped and sent to suppliers through a preformatted
email with all the information, including a sequential and unique Purchase Order Number for control on arrival
 Orders details include information for supplier evaluation according to ISO 9001:2008.
 When a product arrives, several information is updated online (batch, expire date (alerts), hazard codes,...)
and a unique number (ISO 9001:2008) is generated for each product

11. STOCKS MANAGEMENT
 Stock is fed by the orders on arrival
 Stocks and product quality control
 Access to stock update is restricted by user level (Lab Managers)
 Products sent automatically to Out of Stock when amount is defined to zero

12. BIOTERIUM MANAGEMENT
 When an Animal Experiments Study Plan (AESP) is created and authorized a new Housing request is
created
 When an housing request is accepted, an Animal order request is created
 On animal arrival (order arrived), they enter directly to the transfer zone
 Bioterium responsible can then Drag&Drop the animal on the respective cage
 All animal changes on the system are logged and its researcher informed
 On pointer-over it is possible to quickly review some information about each animal
 On click it is possible to edit its information or add some observation
 Rooms, racks and cages can be added or removed dynamically by the Bioterium Manager
