3. It Provides valuable resource material for higher
education and mass communication.
The programmes produced are televised under
UGC/CEC countrywide classroom programme.
1996-97, the Centre produced 16 educational
programmes covering various subjects like Earth
sciences, Ecology, Wildlife, Chemistry, Maths,
Sports, Social sciences and classical dance etc.

5. The Audio Visual Resource Centre
(AVRC) is the resource centre for the
School for Studies in Art and Culture
(SSAC) in the Faculty of Arts and
Social Sciences (FASS) at Carleton
University (CU) in Ottawa, Ontario,
Canada.The AVRC serves the
combined faculties of Art, History,
Music and Film at CU.
6. The centre undertakes research in all aspects of
educational technology in relation to learning
for both urban and rural colleges.
It invites Faculty from within and outside the
university as subject experts participate in the
activities.
The centre has made about 180 programmes
covering various and areas
7. The Audio Visual Resource Centre provides the
following services:
Circulation of reserve material for courses at
the second-year level and above. Students
may consult these materials on a two-hour
loan arrangement(readings; CD’s; DVD’s)
Online searching of the School’s teaching and
reference collections, including a digital image
collection. Requests for items or parton
accounts may be made in person or via email
avrc@carleton.ca

or digital material or in creating
presentations or rescreening a
film -- We’re here to help!
9. The Art History Collection at ARVC consists of:
Digital image slide boards (MDID); separate
username and password.
Approx. 250,000 slides of fine arts and
architectural subjects. Unique and significant
material in this collection will become an
important research archive.
Approx. 20,000 digital images. The digital image
collections is based developed on a course-by-
course basis and will compliment subscription-
based image resources supported by the Library.

The Archive of Canadian Woman Artists (A
multimedia archive made up of thousands
of items. The archive was created by
Natalie Lucky)
