2. A message from our Managing Director,
Shane Lukas
The AVN team wholeheartedly
believe that all businesses, large
and small can use their leverage
and profits to do good in the world.
We celebrate all of our success at
AVN by contributing to the United
Nation’s Global Goals through B1G1
and we also support many local
causes that are close to the hearts
of the AVN team members.
During our quarterly planning
meetings, each team member
chooses a project related to a B1G1
or local cause that we make a giving
towards based on achievements
within their role. Each team
member is also given the
opportunity to put forward a cause
or project for us to make our
monthly local donation towards
too.
Myself and the AVN team are very
passionate about giving back and
we do our best to help wherever
we can.
I hope this report inspires others to
help and support causes they’re
passionate about to.
3. The AVN Team, their chosen cause relating to their
role and their why…
4. Shane Lukas, Managing Director
For every Strategy Session taken
place with Shane we provide a
Business Training Program in
Malawi.
For every new member that joins
AVN we Plant a tree to save
Orang Utans in Indonesia.
For every new member that joins AVN
we also help to reduce Carbon Dioxide
Emissions by rescuing food waste in
Singapore.
Shane’s why…
I’m passionate about education, we should never stop learning and developing our personal and business skill, providing
business training I believe is essential to help people become self sufficient and support their families.
We share this planet with so many other species and yet humanity has damaged so much of the earth to the detriment of our
companions, species have become extinct or very close to it. Planting trees and expanding the forests and the woodlands is
extending the habitats of these species and giving them a change to thrive again.
The more pollutants we send in to the atmosphere the more devastation we will cause, the air quality is
affecting the health of people and animals and also causing the planet to heat and melt the icecaps which
will decimate land and the life that lives on it, reducing the surface area that life on land will have available
to it. Reducing carbon emissions will help to reverse this.
5. Jenny Lukas, Director
For every 10 resources added/ updated to
our online resource vault we support beach
clean ups in Indonesia
Jenny’s why…
“It really upsets me when we go to the beach for the day and find that there are people that just leave
all of their rubbish behind - beaches should be beautiful places where everyone can go and enjoy them
and not wonder what their child is going to put in their mouth. We also shouldn’t come across marine
animals that have choked/been strangled/eaten the rubbish that humans leave behind. We always
try to collect when we go to the beach, but the official beach clean up we did was a way to monitor
the types of rubbish on the beach to do more about it from a higher level.”
6. For every Practice Growth Expert call taken
place with a member we help to provide
safe drinking water to families in Cambodia.
Emma Slack, Practice Growth Expert (PGE)
Emma’s why…
“As a child I was always troubled by seeing children in poorer countries starving and
dying of thirst. As I can’t do anything practically with my hands to solve this issue it’s
great that by doing my job and helping people out I am helping to pay for wells and
irrigation delivered by some amazing charities.”
7. Alan Woods,
Practice Growth Expert (PGE)
For every Practice Growth Expert call taken
place with a member we help to provide
safe drinking water to families in Cambodia.
The Practice Growth Expert team’s why…
” Our Practice Growth Expert team work with AVN members to improve their practices
and their quality of life, both professionally and personally. We looked for a cause that
resonated with this role and chose a project that helps improves the lives of families in
Cambodia. The Bio-Sand Water Filter purifies 80 litres of water a day, enough to
provide clean, safe water for up to 15 people.”
Andrea Higginbottom,
Practice Growth Expert (PGE)
Andrew Millier,
Practice Growth Expert (PGE)
Bernard Keavy,
Practice Growth Expert (PGE)
Joanne Wharm,
Practice Growth Expert (PGE)
8. Kerry Riley, Personal Assistant
Kerry’s why…
”Health and fitness are a great passion of mine and I am very lucky to be able to support
people here in the UK with the personal training I offer in my spare time. It makes me
happy that I can also do this in some way with the tasks I have as part of my job role.”
For every webinar recording edited we
provide access to Free Healthcare for a
refugee in Malaysia
9. Susan Clegg, Marketing and content creation
For every Blog published we provide
shelter, support and life skills to young
people.
Susan’s why…
"As the parent of teenagers, it's unbearable to think that family breakdown could cause
them to be made homeless. But it's a major reason that young people find themselves
on the street. That's why I chose my giving to go to Roundabout."
10. Victoria Walton, Event Co-Ordinator and
Admin Assistant
For every delegate attending an event we
give Music Therapy to children with special
needs in Moldova
Victoria’s why…
”Growing up we fostered children with special needs and I saw how important sensory
activities were for them, especially music so this was such as obvious choice for my
giving. I also feel very strongly that all girls should have access to appropriate hygiene
items so this cause is also important to me.”
For every book posted we provide Hygiene
Kit for a girl in Kenya

21. Why these causes are important to us…
We are very consciously aware that whilst AVN did incredibly well despite COVID-19 we appreciate
that many businesses didn’t; with impacts to them in both professional and personal ways.
Therefore we were passionate about giving to these charities to help support them, and those
needing their services, during these difficult times.
