2015
In 2015 the Austin
Brothers Company
set out to raise $1,000 to go towards the Henry Ford Hospital Main
Campus Neonatal Intensive Care Unit families during the holidays.
The company was able to raise more than $3,000 worth in monetary
donations and resources through the contributions of the community.
80% of the contributions were allocated toward the NICU Holiday
Presentation. 13% of the communities’ contributions went toward
purchasing School Supplies presented to a Headstart/Greatstart
Elementary Program in Oak Park, Michigan. The remaining 7% of
financial and resource contributions were allocated toward helping
7 families in Harper Woods who were
faced with the hard decision of paying
bills or purchasing groceries during the
cold, winter months.

Helping the
community is
easy as A-B-C for
NICU graduates
How old were you when you began working towards your dreams? Two graduates of the Henry Ford Hospital Neonatal ICU,
9 year old Andrew and 10 year old Nathaniel Austin, aim to show the world that it is never too
early to begin.
Aware of the challenges they faced as premature newborns, the Austin brothers went to their parents, Tameka and Nate, Sr.,
with a bold plan when the brothers were only 3 and 4 years old.
This plan had a simple, but powerful mission from the beginning: help children all around the world.
“They came to their mother and me and said, ‘We want to start a company,’” said Austin, Sr. “It took us by surprise that Nate
and Andrew already had a name in mind – Austin Brothers Company, or ABC for short – and at such a young age, they were
already focused on helping others.”
Today, ABC CEO Nathaniel and CFO Andrew are well on their way to helping children around the world, beginning with
those in metro Detroit. Most recently, ABC donated teddy bears and gift baskets to families and staff in the HFH NICU.

“The staff and nurses were so supportive when we had our stay in
the NICU during the New Year holiday. During this time, everyone
(doctors, nurses, staff and families) pulls together to encourage,
strengthen and support each other,” the brothers said in a note that
accompanied the gifts. “This is just a ‘small’ way we felt our family
could make a big difference in the lives of families going through
what we went through during the holidays many years back.”
The gifts for the NICU families and staff were donated by local
businesses, as well as community members who participated in
ABC’s “Cookies with Santa” event in November.
“We were not able to do this alone. We had a host of supporters
and sponsors who helped make our vision of giving back to the
Henry Ford Hospital NICU a reality,” the brothers said. “Straight
Gate International Church donated Instrumental Meditation CDs,
Compassionate for Christ Ministries donated the coffee mugs,
PetSmart donated the stuffed animals, DLB Originality donated
the coffee gift cards, Glory Baskets donated all materials for the
NICU staff gift basket and [citizens of] the Detroit metropolitan
area donated the preemie clothes, blankets, games, DVDs and other
materials for the Family Unit area.”
This gesture was not the first of its kind from the Austin brothers.
ABC recently donated meals to metro Detroit families through
its “Turkey for Tots” program, hosted a school supplies drive
that benefitted local schools, and supported local churches and
nonprofits throughout the area.
As recognition for their philanthropic achievements, ABC was
honored with the Path of Life Enterprises Philanthropy Award,
presented by Rashida Johnson, CEO of Path of Life Enterprises and
the Honorable James Tate, Member of the Detroit City Council.
The Austin brothers are looking forward to many more years of
helping children in not only metro Detroit, but also around the
world. To learn more about ABC, visit austinbrotherscompany.com.

Because of generous contributions, ABC was
able to present more than the original planned
19 baskets to families. They presented
resources to all families (36 beds), the family
sitting/lounge area and the staff (1 staff basket
full of coffee, cocoa, tea, oatmeal, reading
materials, etc.).
36% of resources were
donated from small
businesses, churches and
larger organizations.

  • 4. Helping the community is easy as A-B-C for NICU graduates How old were you when you began working towards your dreams? Two graduates of the Henry Ford Hospital Neonatal ICU, 9 year old Andrew and 10 year old Nathaniel Austin, aim to show the world that it is never too early to begin. Aware of the challenges they faced as premature newborns, the Austin brothers went to their parents, Tameka and Nate, Sr., with a bold plan when the brothers were only 3 and 4 years old. This plan had a simple, but powerful mission from the beginning: help children all around the world. “They came to their mother and me and said, ‘We want to start a company,’” said Austin, Sr. “It took us by surprise that Nate and Andrew already had a name in mind – Austin Brothers Company, or ABC for short – and at such a young age, they were already focused on helping others.” Today, ABC CEO Nathaniel and CFO Andrew are well on their way to helping children around the world, beginning with those in metro Detroit. Most recently, ABC donated teddy bears and gift baskets to families and staff in the HFH NICU. w w w . a u s t i n b r o t h e r s c o m p a n y . c o m [ p 6 ]Austin Brothers Company | 2 0 1 5 - 2 0 1 6 F i n a n c i a l R e p o r t “The staff and nurses were so supportive when we had our stay in the NICU during the New Year holiday. During this time, everyone (doctors, nurses, staff and families) pulls together to encourage, strengthen and support each other,” the brothers said in a note that accompanied the gifts. “This is just a ‘small’ way we felt our family could make a big difference in the lives of families going through what we went through during the holidays many years back.” The gifts for the NICU families and staff were donated by local businesses, as well as community members who participated in ABC’s “Cookies with Santa” event in November. “We were not able to do this alone. We had a host of supporters and sponsors who helped make our vision of giving back to the Henry Ford Hospital NICU a reality,” the brothers said. “Straight Gate International Church donated Instrumental Meditation CDs, Compassionate for Christ Ministries donated the coffee mugs, PetSmart donated the stuffed animals, DLB Originality donated the coffee gift cards, Glory Baskets donated all materials for the NICU staff gift basket and [citizens of] the Detroit metropolitan area donated the preemie clothes, blankets, games, DVDs and other materials for the Family Unit area.” This gesture was not the first of its kind from the Austin brothers. ABC recently donated meals to metro Detroit families through its “Turkey for Tots” program, hosted a school supplies drive that benefitted local schools, and supported local churches and nonprofits throughout the area. As recognition for their philanthropic achievements, ABC was honored with the Path of Life Enterprises Philanthropy Award, presented by Rashida Johnson, CEO of Path of Life Enterprises and the Honorable James Tate, Member of the Detroit City Council. The Austin brothers are looking forward to many more years of helping children in not only metro Detroit, but also around the world. They presented resources to all families (36 beds), the family sitting/lounge area and the staff (1 staff basket full of coffee, cocoa, tea, oatmeal, reading materials, etc.). 36% of resources were donated from small businesses, churches and larger organizations.
