In the future, Miller hopes to study hotel management in college and own a nursing home to improve activities for residents, while also continuing her basketball career.
1. Hi, I am Kynnedy Miller and I was born on February 13, 2002. I was born at JC Blair
Hospital in Huntingdon, PA. I was 19 inches and 6 pounds and 9 ounces. Now, I live with my
mom, dad, older sister, younger brother, and my dog, Zona. My parents are educators at Mount
Union Area School District and Mifflin County School District. My sister started her first year of
college at Juniata College and my brother just started at Huntingdon Middle School this year. My
family and I go to church every Sunday, then go see my gram in her nursing home after. My
other set of grandparents live near Pittsburgh. We try to visit with them often. Family is very
important to me. When I was younger, my sister and I loved to play with my Loving Family
pieces. We would play with them all day, and when we weren’t playing with them, we were
enjoying time with Ellie Kyle and Morgan Banks. We would go camping, have picnics, and
laugh all day.
When I was five years old, I started school at Standing Stone Elementary. My
kindergarten teacher was Mrs. Knepp, and I thought she was extremely nice. I loved going to
school every day. I met some really close friends that I still have now. I rode the bus with them
and went to the same babysitters before and after school. Elementary school was when I really
fell in love with sports. I started playing basketball in second grade and I have played ever since.
I play year around with my school team and my AAU team, Hemlock Hoops. My two best
friends, Allie Troup and Kait McElroy, have been on my team since third grade, and we have
grown so much since then. We go to tournaments every weekend during the summer and have a
blast. During recess, we would always have a game going on and try to beat everyone.
Huntingdon Area Middle School was the best! I loved the teachers, the classes, and I
loved meeting all of the new students from South Side. I am an outgoing, friendly person, so I
2. met a lot of new friends. Changing classes during the day is something I also really enjoyed. It’s
hard for me to sit still for a long period of time, so I think that helped me get better grades, since
I was able to focus more. After each school year, my family and neighbors go on a big vacation.
We started doing this when I was in middle school. Our favorite vacation is going out west. We
could go to Sedona, Arizona every year! I have a lot of memories from middle school that are
very unforgettable.
High School was something I was really looking forward to. I got to spend my first year
in the high school with my sister, McKynly. The pep rallies were always so much fun with her,
and she got everyone involved. Also on Friday nights, I was in the student section at the football
games. I would love looking down on the sideline watching her cheer. Before every game, my
friends and I would all get ready and paint our faces, and we had so much fun. Also in high
school, I play volleyball and track for the school. I am the Libero in volleyball and I run distance
in track. I think I am really going to enjoy sophomore year!
In college, I am looking forward to getting into a good school. I want to go for hotel
management, so one day I can have my own nursing home. Right now, my gram is placed in a
nursing home and I wish I could change so many activities that they do. I feel that I am a very
sociable and congenial person, and these skills will help me be successful. Also, in college, I am
hoping that I will be a collegiate athlete. I am working very hard so that I will be able to play
basketball in college, since it has always been one of my dreams!
