This document addresses the limitations of current Kerberos-based key exchange protocols in parallel network file systems (PNFS), such as metadata server workload, lack of forward secrecy, and key escrow issues. It proposes three new authenticated key exchange protocols that significantly reduce the metadata server's workload while ensuring forward secrecy and escrow-freeness, achieving a balance between security and efficiency. The proposed system is designed to efficiently manage many-to-many communications among a large number of clients and storage devices within a secure and scalable framework.
