Australian CIO Summit 2012: A Strategic Approach To BIG DATA Analytics. Separating Hype from Reality by Ian Forrester, Managing Consultant, Inside Info
Analytics is all about course correcting the future. While this starts with accurate predictions of the future, without resultant actions steering the future toward company goals, knowing that future is academic. Successful companies must be grounded in successful data-based prescription. In this webinar, William will present a data maturity model with a focus on how analytic competitors outdo the competition by looking forward to a data-influenced future.
How to Create and Manage a Successful Analytics OrganizationDATAVERSITY
For the last few years, analytics, data science and data management have achieved tremendous exposure on all the media channels. Big Data has become a major topic of discussion, catalyzing attention among the C-Level executives and driving investments and projects inside the enterprise. However, it is really interesting that just a selected group of business has created successful data teams and has mastered the skills to manage it. What we have seen is that most companies still do not know how to create, implement and manage a data and analytics organization. Above all, if data has become an strategic asset and is being considered the new oil for the 21st century economy, what your strategy to handle it ? This webinar will help to bring some concepts and ideas to enlighten your path to create and manage an analytics organization, providing some real life examples on companies which did it.
Objective Benchmarking for Improved Analytics Health and EffectivenessPersonifyMarketing
Achieving a high state of analytics excellence can be a daunting task. It involves mastering progressive stages of data health, technological capability, and staff readiness, all while putting out countless fires and responding to last-minute requests for analysis. Strategic progress can be slow, and charting that progress for the executive team, cumbersome and uncertain.
Join us as Denny Lengkong from Personify Implementation Partner, IntelliData, and Personify's Solution Director, Bill Connell, present a rational framework for understanding analytics health and effectiveness. This webinar will help you learn how to make targeted investments in analytics over time that everyone in your organization will understand.
How to Monetize Your Data Assets and Gain a Competitive AdvantageCCG
Join us for this session where Doug Laney will share insights from his best-selling book, Infonomics, about how organizations can actually treat information as an enterprise asset.
How Do You Improve Data Skills and Data Literacy in your Business?Bernard Marr

Fraud has many costs to a business, not only in terms of real dollars lost, but also in draining company resources investigating and prosecuting fraud and in reputational damage. For these reasons alone, companies should put systems and processes in place to combat fraud.
However, there are other extremely compelling strategic reasons why companies should implement fraud solutions which can help them gain competitive advantage, grow market share, increase profits, develop differentiated products, and implement more targeted and advantageous customer pricing.
This webinar will review the multiple business benefits for analyzing and combating fraud and the different approaches and best practices to analyzing data for fraud prevention. We will also review several real-life case studies where companies have used fraud analytics to win in the marketplace. Lastly, we will review different technology architectures to enable optimal fraud analytics and prevention.

zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex ProofsAlex Pruden
This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.
Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

• Many companies struggle with the most basic aspects of data management such as

insufficient data governance).
• The most common obstacle for companies in extracting value from data is that they have
too much data & too few resources.

• Analytic skills are concentrated in too few employees
• Reliable information exists, but hard to locate
• Executives don’t manage information as well as they manage talent, capital & brands.
