PREFACE
We know in management study, theoretical subject and class discussion is
not enough. B.B.A. is not perfect without industrial training industrial training is the
basic need of student of B.B.A.
The main objective of the industrial training at T.Y.B.B.A. level is to given an
idea about the organization ad functioning of following areas of management. The
industrial training also provides information regarding.
Finance is the heart of any organization. Proper utilization of financial
resources is necessary for any organization to survive. With the purpose of getting
myself well acquainted with the atmosphere of prevailing industry, I undertook six
weeks training at “Austin Engineering Company Limited”.
This report presents the workings, on the general information and mainly of
finance (cash flow analysis) at “Austin Engineering Company Limited”. It gives the
better understanding of the cash inflow and outflow of “Austin Engineering
Company Limited”.

History& Development
Of Unit
At present the “AUSTIN ENGINEERING COMPANY LIMITED” has become a
wide and popular unit in the market.
The “AUSTIN ENGINEERING COMPANY LIMITED” was started 34 years
ago that 1973. It was started by five technocrats.

As a partnership firm.
At that time its name was ACCURATE ENGINEERING COMPANY.
The trade mark of company is “AEC”. After making tremendous performance
it converted into corporate body and became a public limited company on 27th July
1978 with main object of manufacturing kinds by rolling bearing.

In initial year company produced 40 to 50 varieties of bearing how it
procedures approximately 4500 varieties of bearings.
As India prepares itself to meet the global challenges, aec is moving
progressively and steadily to establish now development in bearing of international
quality standards and best in workmanship (while producing every bearing.
Development:
1973: When co. has started manufacturing needle roller cage assembles
with 10 peoples and capital investment of 3500 U.S. Dollar.
1978: Partnership firm converted into private limited company.
1985: It is converted into public limited company & share / stock offered to
public.
1999: Awarded ISO 9001 certification from TUB RHINELAND
2004: Established a subsidiary co. in U.S.A.
2006: Awarded ISO/IS 16949: 2002 by TUB RHINELAND.

According to the definition given by government of India, the size of a firm

The criteria of size are given on the basis of investment in fixed assets i.e.
plant and machinery. The “AUSTIN ENGINEERING COMPANY LIMITED” is a large
scale industry as the investment in fixed assets is more than 3 crores.

Manufacturing Process
Manufacturing process conducted to produce or manufacturing the product.
This is the basis or main process because each and every activity developing on
manufacturing process.
The main product produced by the “AEC” is bearing so, the raw material
required for manufacturing bearing such as:
Steel road
Steel bars
CIRCA sheet
Steel bails
Pure steel
Following are the main stage of manufacturing process:
Collection of raw material:
The raw material is steel ball, tubes, roller, and races & tapers etc. the ‘AEC’
import the plant and machinery especially from Germany.

This company has to reach big orders of export market and big original
equipment, manufactures so company has kept six-month investment for raw
material and has make contract with their suppliers regularly.
Main suppliers in India are:
» Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.
» India steel less metal tube Ltd.
» Specific steel Ltd.
» Meedamra industry Ltd.
They store this raw material in store room and when required they inspect and
test then in terms of their fitness for further production process which are according
to purchased order.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS=:
1. Heat treatment:
This is the third stage of production process. After turning of races in second
stage all the races and rollers are given heat through electric furnace at 845 c to
855 c temperatures through which defective pieces are removed. It means this
testing of races and rollers are done to measure the capacity of products.
2. Grinding of Races and Roller:
This is the fourth stage in manufacturing process. After heat treatment, the part
of races and rollers are refined inner and outer part of races and rollers are given
shape through the grinding machine.
3. Tapping, turning and finishing:
In this stage there are checking of rollers and races because it has single
mistake or defeat in outer and inner side of races and rollers. If any races and
rollers are defective that pieces are tapped and happen than the super finishing will
be done.
4. Inspection and grading:

After all producer for making a bearing all races and rollers are inspected by the
inspection department because final product is better than other quality, so it is
necessary to checks quality of bearing. After inspection or races and rollers graded
according to the required quality and members.
5. Assembling:
There are separate department for making of bearing all kind of bearing are
managed and its size quality and shape are measured. Then after all bearing are
assembled.
6. Cleaning, oiling and packing:
After all the bearing are inspected by expert when they are assembling, if
they are suitable for dispatch then they send bearing for oiling. The bearing in
different types of machine are completely free from dust. So they send it for
cleaning purpose.
7. Storage and dispatch:
After passing through all the above stages, this is the final stage of
manufacturing process. The finished goods are kept in godownand from there are
dispatched in the market under the name ‘AEC’ ball bearing as per order from local

agent for wholesalers or dealers. Bearing will be dispatched and stored or
transported.
Time Keeping System
‘TIME AND TIDE WAITS FOR NONE’ is the famous saying keeping this view
in mind a unit has to develop and efficient time keeping system. It is nothing but
keeping the record of time of entrance and exit of their employees and workers.
Working shifts are as under:

In “AUSTIN ENGINEERING COMPANY LIMITED” there is a separate
marketing department which is called as ‘sales department’. Organization structure
is line and staff function and it is in vertical form.

Product planning is one of the prominent elements of marketing mix. Market

present situation the company name is bearing industry.
My project report channel of distribution and physical distribution. The
company is adopted zero level channel it is also one level channel.
Company is not giving more important to intermediaries. They are totally
neglecting retailers. Company gives too much various allowance discount
allowance during my training I have observed that “AUSTIN ENGINEERING
COMPANY LTD.” gives less importance to personal selling.
