1. The Police Officers Brotherhood Supports
The Monmouth County PBA Conference of Delegates Fundraiser
Sunday July 10th from 1pm to 6 pm the Monmouth
County PBA Conference of Delegates had a
Pension Pig Roast in Honor of NJSPBA President
Patrick Colligan. Portions of the proceeds to benefit
the Survivor & Welfare Fund, and the unfunded
liability of the NJPFRS. It was a sunny and mild day
with live entertainment, family fun games, swimming
pool, super 50/50, food, beer & beverages. The pig
was roasted to perfection and everyone was enjoying
the day while supporting this important event.
There was a small presentation to State PBA
President Patrick Colligan by Mike Tardio from the
Conference of Delegates of a Pork Roll and the
crowd laughed and appreciated the inside joke
humor.
President Colligan graciously accepted and stated for
all officers to be careful in light of the recent attacks
and assassinations of officers out of state in Dallas
and in other States. He told Mike Tardio that some of
the funds will go to both of those out of state causes.
The State PBA plains to take a representative detail
in the State PBA truck and trailer to give a donation
and to help reinforce the thin blue line by attending
the funerals to support those officers who made the
ultimate sacrifice.
A contingent from the Police Officers Brotherhood
proudly attended this event wearing their
commemorative T-shirts and proudly displayed flying
their event banner in support of the Conference and
President Colligan. Representing the POB were
Trooper Wayne Blanchard, Director of Public
Relations, Jerry Conan, Director of Communications
and Michael Sica, Jr., past President and Delegate
of PBA #199. Sica made a short presentation on
behalf of the Police Officers Brotherhood to the
conference delegates thanking Mike Tardio, Ryan
Hurley and the many PBA’s who have supported the
POB Cigar Smoke Out Fundraisers to help officers
and their families during their time of need or crises
over the past year. The Police Officers Brotherhood
was able to give out donations totaling over $30,000
last year to those officers in need. Due to the
overwhelming support from the law enforcement
community partnered with our business community
to form an alliance that made it all possible. The
POB gave a check for $1,000 dollars to help the
Conference and State PBA reach their goals for
the event.
It’s time to bring back the true meaning of “The Brotherhood.” Together, we can make the thin blue line stronger.
