CRYSTAL LAKE
RULES AND REGULATIONS
A.

HOMESITES AND RESIDENCES
2. Mobile homes and lots shall be maintained by residents in full compliance with applicable
state and local governmental codes as well as the management policies of Crystal Lake. The maintenance and cleanliness of all mobile homes and lots are of prime importance, for which, the residents shall be responsible. The management reserves the right to keep a lot from creating an unsightly appearance and may charge residents for the cost of alleviating such unsightly appearance,
together with an overhead charge of twenty-five percent (25%) thereof.

17. Each Resident is responsible for keeping his respective trees, plants, and flower boxes attractively
maintained. Home sites are to be kept free of dead limbs and weeds and shall not be permitted to become
overgrown.
(b) Existing trees or shrubs must not be damaged or removed by Home Owner without written permission of the Community Manager. Home Owner is responsible for maintenance of all trees and shrubs
located on the manufactured home lot. Trees that are the property of the Community (those the trunk of
which is located entirely within a common area of the Community) may be trimmed or removed by consent of Community Management with costs shared equally by Homeowner and Community Owner. Dead
trees, or trees and shrubs damaged by high winds, or any other act of God or in any other way, must be removed by Home Owner, at Home Owner’s expense, within seven (7) days of occurrence of death or damage of the affected tree or shrub.
(f) Vegetable gardening is not permitted on any lot. Trees and shrubs must be kept well groomed at
all times.
C.

VEHICLES

1. Residents, guests, vendors and contractors shall observe the 15-MPH limit while operating
vehicles within Crystal Lake. Management and residents should make all visitors and contractors/
vendors servicing Crystal Lake aware of the 15-MPH speed limit and that continued violation
could jeopardize their access to Crystal Lake.
(f) To ensure the safety of residents and guests, golf carts may not be driven by anyone under the age of
18.
September Notes from Kate
This summer has gone incredibly fast! Pretty soon everyone will be back from their vacations and
we will be seeing the snowbirds trickle back in to the community. I hope everyone has had a great
summer.
Thanks to all of you that called or emailed and let me know that power washing was scheduled.
There were many letters sent because I know it takes time to get your home on the schedule to be
cleaned. The letters were fairly well received and most folks understand they are not to be taken
personally and that no one was singled out by any means. I do ELS-required inspections once a
year and I appreciate everyone’s efforts in a very unforgiving Florida summertime climate. Cooperation and understanding are just two of the many awesome thin gs about Crystal Lake!
I would like to remind everyone to please pick up after your dog when you venture out into the
community. There are indeed folks that don’t adhere to this policy, and it is frustrating to all who
do. Let’s make an effort to always have pick-up bags with you when you walk, and deal with your
dog as you would in your own home. Everyone is proud of their dogs, and you should be, so
please pick up so other walkers do not encounter any unpleasant surprises.
Please remember that no one under the age or 18 is permitted to drive a golf cart in the community.
This includes toddlers sitting on your lap “steering” the golf cart. We have had a couple near
misses with kids driving the carts, so when they ask, the answer just has to be NO. If you want pictures, and we all know the little ones look cute in the cart at the wheel, let them sit in the cart in
your driveway and snap away!
I have noticed up by the mail station that quite often folks are taking a short cut through the grass
from or onto Lake Crystal Blvd. The only problem I have with that, aside from it being against the
rules, is that we are creating a pathway in the grass. If you look, you can see the tire tracks. It will
fix itself if we stop cutting through. It can’t take more than a few extra seconds to enter and exit
the parking lot at the designated entrance, and I will be grateful.
The subject of Service, Therapy and Emotional Support Dogs has been a topic of interest for many
residents. There is information both in the clubhouse and in the office addressing the official policies for the community. Please take the time to read this information, and feel free to call me if
you have any questions or concerns.
Miss working in your yard up north?? Come out to the clubhouse on Tuesday mornings at 7:30
a.m. and help out with the gardening gurus! They do an incredible job but really need some additional able bodies. Just one hour a week is all it takes.

Have a great September! “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough”-Mae West

  • 4. At the August 12, 2013 Board Meeting a motion was made and approved by the Board of Directors to post in the Newsletter one or two Crystal Lake Rules and Regulations each month. These will serve as a reminder as to why we choose to live in Crystal Lake. Thank you, George Taber CRYSTAL LAKE RULES AND REGULATIONS A. HOMESITES AND RESIDENCES 2. Mobile homes and lots shall be maintained by residents in full compliance with applicable state and local governmental codes as well as the management policies of Crystal Lake. The maintenance and cleanliness of all mobile homes and lots are of prime importance, for which, the residents shall be responsible. The management reserves the right to keep a lot from creating an unsightly appearance and may charge residents for the cost of alleviating such unsightly appearance, together with an overhead charge of twenty-five percent (25%) thereof. 17. Each Resident is responsible for keeping his respective trees, plants, and flower boxes attractively maintained. Home sites are to be kept free of dead limbs and weeds and shall not be permitted to become overgrown. (b) Existing trees or shrubs must not be damaged or removed by Home Owner without written permission of the Community Manager. Home Owner is responsible for maintenance of all trees and shrubs located on the manufactured home lot. Trees that are the property of the Community (those the trunk of which is located entirely within a common area of the Community) may be trimmed or removed by consent of Community Management with costs shared equally by Homeowner and Community Owner. Dead trees, or trees and shrubs damaged by high winds, or any other act of God or in any other way, must be removed by Home Owner, at Home Owner’s expense, within seven (7) days of occurrence of death or damage of the affected tree or shrub. (f) Vegetable gardening is not permitted on any lot. Trees and shrubs must be kept well groomed at all times. C. VEHICLES 1. Residents, guests, vendors and contractors shall observe the 15-MPH limit while operating vehicles within Crystal Lake. Management and residents should make all visitors and contractors/ vendors servicing Crystal Lake aware of the 15-MPH speed limit and that continued violation could jeopardize their access to Crystal Lake. (f) To ensure the safety of residents and guests, golf carts may not be driven by anyone under the age of 18.
  • 5. September Notes from Kate This summer has gone incredibly fast! Pretty soon everyone will be back from their vacations and we will be seeing the snowbirds trickle back in to the community. I hope everyone has had a great summer. Thanks to all of you that called or emailed and let me know that power washing was scheduled. There were many letters sent because I know it takes time to get your home on the schedule to be cleaned. The letters were fairly well received and most folks understand they are not to be taken personally and that no one was singled out by any means. I do ELS-required inspections once a year and I appreciate everyone’s efforts in a very unforgiving Florida summertime climate. Cooperation and understanding are just two of the many awesome thin gs about Crystal Lake! I would like to remind everyone to please pick up after your dog when you venture out into the community. There are indeed folks that don’t adhere to this policy, and it is frustrating to all who do. Let’s make an effort to always have pick-up bags with you when you walk, and deal with your dog as you would in your own home. Everyone is proud of their dogs, and you should be, so please pick up so other walkers do not encounter any unpleasant surprises. Please remember that no one under the age or 18 is permitted to drive a golf cart in the community. This includes toddlers sitting on your lap “steering” the golf cart. We have had a couple near misses with kids driving the carts, so when they ask, the answer just has to be NO. If you want pictures, and we all know the little ones look cute in the cart at the wheel, let them sit in the cart in your driveway and snap away! I have noticed up by the mail station that quite often folks are taking a short cut through the grass from or onto Lake Crystal Blvd. The only problem I have with that, aside from it being against the rules, is that we are creating a pathway in the grass. If you look, you can see the tire tracks. It will fix itself if we stop cutting through. It can’t take more than a few extra seconds to enter and exit the parking lot at the designated entrance, and I will be grateful. The subject of Service, Therapy and Emotional Support Dogs has been a topic of interest for many residents. There is information both in the clubhouse and in the office addressing the official policies for the community. Please take the time to read this information, and feel free to call me if you have any questions or concerns. Miss working in your yard up north?? Come out to the clubhouse on Tuesday mornings at 7:30 a.m. and help out with the gardening gurus! They do an incredible job but really need some additional able bodies. Just one hour a week is all it takes. Have a great September! “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough”-Mae West Kate
