My finding showed me that radio in general is a large part of peoples lives whether it be at
work, in the car or listening to it on the way too school. I thought that it was just going to be
the younger age categories that listen to the radio but I was surprised by the amount of young
people I asked that preferred using their IPod.
Evaluation
I found that it was the 21-40 and 41-60 categories that listened to radio more as they will
listen to it while at work or driving in the car whereas even though the 0-20 and 60+
categories had some that listened to the radio they preferred either having no radio on or
listening to their IPod or music on their phone as it is more convenient. I found that it was
mainly women listen to the radio; I think this is because it’s more convenient fir them to tuen
the radio on than putting music on there phone or iPod due to lack of free time.
Different ages listen to the radio in different ways, the younger ages groups I asked tend to
listen to the radio on their phones whereas the older ages tend to listen to it either on a
portable radio or the car radio. I think this is because the younger age groups know have the
latest phones that have the option of having the radio on whereas older age groups just want
a simple phone for texting or ringing someone.
