Here are some screenshots of my questionnaire which I
conducted to find out my target audience:
Who were my target Audience
 Mainly 21 – 35 years old ( adults)
 Predominately Male
 Viewers who regularly watch Gangster crime films
such as The Godfather, GoodFellas etc.
 Go to the cinemas about 2-5 times a year
 Read Newspapers regularly (Broadsheets
Newspapers)
 Nollywood film viewers (or people that want to see
it)
How my Research and Planning
impacted upon my ancillary tasks
 As I was making a Gangster Crime film poster and magazine I had to
make sure that I constructed an audience ancillary tasks, which through
numerous research taught me that red and black were the two most
popular colours for any Gangster Film ( as they symbolised power and
status), therefore I decided to heavily implement these colours for both
my ancillary tasks and I used the correct mise en scene such as the
Fedora hat and the black suit and tie.
Front Cover – Audience Feedback
 Once I constructed my film magazine I
showed it to numerous people who
gave me their positive opinion of it:
 “I Really like it”
 “It looks very authentic, everything about it tells me
it’s a film magazine”
 “I loved the way you used the cat to symbolise
power”
 “I would actually purchase that”
 “To be honest if I saw that magazine in a shop I
would think it is real”
 “Your Headline really stands out”
Front Cover – Audience Feedback - Continued
I also got some constructive criticism as
well:
 “ I think you should remove the bubble on the
poster”
 “ It would be easier for you to use Empire as a
masthead instead on 365 Film”
 “The Sell lines need to be smaller” ( Had
numerous suggestions about the previous size of
the sell lines)
What I have learnt………….
 From my audience feedback I learnt that most of my correspondents
indeed felt that my film magazine looked liked an authentic film
magazine as I received a lot of comments praising me for my use of
text, colours and image placements etc., however I did get some
constrictive criticism involving the size of my sell lines and my button
in which I took all comments on board and tried to improve my film
magazine as much as I can which I did by removing the bubble
completely and decreasing the size of my sell lines, which helped me
achieve a realistic Gangster Crime film magazine which I hope will be
unique and stand out in the magazine market.
Film Poster– Audience Feedback
 Once I constructed my film poster I showed it to
numerous people who gave me their positive opinion
of it:
 “Wow, I really like this”
 “Looks like a real movie poster”
 “Love the background “
 “I really like the way you used your colour scheme”
 “ I really like your films tagline”
 “When is your film out, I want to go watch it”
 “I like the way the character is positioned”
Film Poster Audience Feedback - Continued
I also got some constructive criticism as
well:
 “ I think you should make your masthead less
bright”
 “Change your background”
 “You need to put all the ratings/logos on
your poster”
This was my first draft of
my film poster
What I have learnt………….
 Through my audience feedback I had learnt that all of my respondents really
liked my film poster and though it had the correct forms and conventions of
a real Gangster Crime film poster, as ,many respondents liked my colour
scheme which was white and red and most of them stated that they thought
it was a real film poster and that looking at the poster made them eager to
watch my film trailer which was extremely positive feedback. However some
of my correspondents felt that my old background was plain so I changed it
completely to make my film poster look more authentic, but overall I was
very ecstatic to hear all the positive comments I received for my film poster
as many people wanted to watch my film trailer ‘The Verdict’.
