Atlantic Records is a major American record label founded in 1947 by Ahmet Ertegun and Herb Abramson. It became a subsidiary of Warner Bros.-Seven Arts in 1967 and expanded into rock and pop music, signing popular artists like Led Zeppelin, Yes, Rita Ora, Lil Uzi Vert, Coldplay, Jay-Z, Bruno Mars, and Ed Sheeran. Over the 1970s, Atlantic shifted from an R&B/soul label to a leader in rock music thanks to signings by Ahmet Ertegun and executives Jerry L. Greenberg and John Kalodner.
