example in the past years streaming music has become the most common way of listening to music
compared to buying CD albums because so much more accessible for the audience.
Top steaming services like Spotify, Apple Music and TIDAL have a growing revenue because their services
can attract more demand. For example these streaming services have explicit and not explicit versions of
songs so this can appeal to parents when their young children want to listen to music. It is also said that
streaming music can be cheaper than buying an album because you pay a certain fee for the physical copy
of the album but you could pay that fee and stream an unlimited amount of music wherever you are.
It is known that music that is performed live is more profitable. An article on The Guardian says that the
total revenue for live music is a huge £904 million whereas in from record sales it is £896 million. This
article was published in 2009 and using 2008 figures so image how much both has increased since then.
In 2014 the total revenue for music was just under £10.43 billion. This shows that the music industry is
extremely profitable because that is a huge sum of money that is being brought in every single year and
seems to be increasing.
