Solution
Culture of a society means the way people do things living in a society. This varies from place to
place to a large level. People living in a society will have different cultures, customs, behaviours,
language which can become a barrier if not tackled in the right way.
It is important for an international manager to understand it because of the trend of globalising
the business in international market. When the business is expanded to different places problems
are faced to understand the culture of that place and adjust to make variations according to the
existing culture of the place. For example the most important cultural barrier could be of
language. Communication is the backbone of a strong organisational structure. But if language is
a hindrance in the operations then the business may face a failure in that condition. To globalise
the business certain negotiations are done which not only require communication proficiency but
also understanding the psychology and behavioral responses of the people. All these traits form
the culture of the society. A cultural mismatch can effect the overall growth of the business in the
process of globalisation.
Cultural differences can be found anywhere where a group of people work together and share
ideas to bring an outcome. In a classroom also a similar situation can be seen. The students
present can be from different societies and carry different cultural traits. In a way it can be
helpful too as different cultures come with different ideas and when working in a group those
ideas can help in making projects innovative and creative. Each student will have different inputs
based on the culture they follow. Hence that can make the project more creative and unique. But
the barriers faced can be language barrier as understanding the other person's ideology in
working as a group is important and that becomes difficult if effective communication is not
done. Similarly the conflict of thoughts can create chaos and working in a group can become
difficult having people from different cultures.

Assume you are a U.S. manager of a subs foreign country and explain how differences on these are likely to affect your management tasks. What s you have for dealing with these differences in the w Solution Culture of a society means the way people do things living in a society. This varies from place to place to a large level. People living in a society will have different cultures, customs, behaviours, language which can become a barrier if not tackled in the right way. It is important for an international manager to understand it because of the trend of globalising the business in international market. When the business is expanded to different places problems are faced to understand the culture of that place and adjust to make variations according to the existing culture of the place. For example the most important cultural barrier could be of language. Communication is the backbone of a strong organisational structure. But if language is

To globalise the business certain negotiations are done which not only require communication proficiency but also understanding the psychology and behavioral responses of the people. All these traits form the culture of the society. A cultural mismatch can effect the overall growth of the business in the process of globalisation. Cultural differences can be found anywhere where a group of people work together and share ideas to bring an outcome. In a classroom also a similar situation can be seen. The students present can be from different societies and carry different cultural traits. In a way it can be helpful too as different cultures come with different ideas and when working in a group those ideas can help in making projects innovative and creative. Each student will have different inputs based on the culture they follow. Hence that can make the project more creative and unique. But the barriers faced can be language barrier as understanding the other person's ideology in working as a group is important and that becomes difficult if effective communication is not done. Similarly the conflict of thoughts can create chaos and working in a group can become difficult having people from different cultures.
