The Rank Of Eagle Scout Essay
Achievement is a very important thing for many reasons. Our achievements are what define us
and give us purpose. Achievement helps determine just how far we are willing to go to achieve
goals and to make ourselves successful. I have worked for many achievements, in my lifetime, and
I have many things that I am proud of. However, out of all of my achievements, I would say that
my greatest achievement, was earning the rank of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America.
The rank of Eagle Scout is not something that is easily achieved. Many people have struggled to
obtain the rank and have failed. However, many of America s most influential figures have won
the rank of Eagle Scout. Neil Armstrong, Hank Aaron, and Rick Perry are just a few well known
figures who have obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. To add the rank s prestige and importance,
those who do receive the rank make up a very small portion of the Boy Scouts who join the
program.
When I was seven years old, I remember seeing boys from the school s Cub Scouts program
walking through the hallway. Dawned in dark blue uniforms, with orange neckties, and many
colorful badges, these scouts stunned me by the unity and patriotic spirit that they showed. That
evening, I went home from school and ran to the kitchen table where my father was sitting. I
explained to him that I wanted to join scouting. He smiled at me and quickly took me to the local
Boy Scouts headquarters, where I was signed up for a pack as it was called.

The majority of the tower is allocated primarily for office space, totalling in 442,928 Sq Ft. The
Offices are principally divided into groups of three floors to form relatively small office villages
of approximately 35,000 Sq Ft each. It is expected that in total the offices will house 20 25
tenants who will use the premises as their major representative offices for the UK. The renting of
the offices has a certain degree of flexibility, designed to be let floor by floor, as well as village
by village. Levels 38 40 contain a luxurious sky bar and restaurant overlooking the city rooftops.
This has huge appeal and is a spectacular and exclusive option for the wealthy, high flying
businessmen who enjoy splashing a bit of cash. At the base of the tower there are three basement
levels for retail, parking, storage and management services. The site is in an inner city area, free
space is sparse and commercial business competitive. (The Heron Tower, 2010, [online] available at

building started in September 2007 and is set to be completed in the first quarter of 2011 at a
construction cost of approximately ВЈ185 million, with rental office space estimated at ВЈ75/SqFt

How Did Emily Dickinson Influence Her Work
Emily Dickinson is currently considered one of the most famous American authors, despite the
fact that her work was not well known in her own day. Emily was notable to American Literature,
and she sealed the road for several of today s poets. She was a creative poet, determined writer, and
an extreme introvert who never gave up. Emily Dickinsonwas born on December 10, 1830 and
passed away at age 55 on May 15, 1886. ( Emily Famous). Having grown up in poverty, it
influenced her poems greatly. Emily Dickinson s father, Edward Dickinson, was a lawyer, a
member of Congress, and the treasurer of Amherst College ( Emily Encyclopedia). Dickinson s
mother, Emily Norcross Dickinson was from Monson ( Emily Famous). Dickinson was the middle

It is very popular because she uses this metaphor through a bird, showing that even in the hard
times we should still have hope ( Emily Study). Theres many reasons why this poem is so
popular, one being the way she puts commas around the word hope (O Connor). Hope is the
Thing with Feathers is also a very positive poem, and many people feel as if it speaks right to the
heart (O Connor). There is a lot of reviews saying that it just has a pleasant type of message (O
Connor). Many people also find it a very good description of hope, and many people love it
because they feel as if they can relate to it (O Connor). This poem was published in 1891 in the
2nd collection of Dickinson s work, Poems by Emily Dickinson, second series ( Hope
Encyclopedia). My opinion of Hope is the Thing with Feathers would have to be that she was
very clear with her message. Not only do I feel that I can relate to it, I feel as if many other
people can relate to it. That poems main point is about hope and how you should believe in it
whenever things are not looking up for you, and I think that is very true. Many times people get
discouraged and think that there is nothing left but there is, and it is hope. I highly agree with
Dickinson in her poem Hope is the Thing with Feathers . Other people who have written reviews
on the poem say that it gives them chills, and that they adored this poem

How Is Gran Torino Related To Sociology
Gran Torino
To what extent has Clint Eastwood portrayed the struggle between different cultural groups within
the film Gran Torino
In the film Gran Torino the director, Clint Eastwood, has shown the immense struggle between the
different races in such a way that is realistic to the modern day today. Strong wiled war veteran
Walter Kowalski, played by director Clint Eastwood, is under going a major change in society. The
neighbour hood in which he has always lived in is in desperate need of cultural acceptance and
change. In this Eastwood film there is massive showing of the evolution of violence. Where it
started and how it ended within the Hmong community.
The main character, Walter Kowalski, has many issues with cultural difference. This stems from
his old fashioned views on life and his traumatic past. Walt has had a previous career in the
military and was involved in the Korean War hence why his views on the Hmong people are very
negative. There is not only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At first Kowalski isn t bothered by all the bad in his neighbourhood but this all changes when a
Hmong family move in next door. There are very clear cultural differences between the Hmong
family and the very obsolescent Kowalski. He struggle majorly in trying to accept the fact that
his new neighbours were not of the same culture as him. There is a breaking point in the movie
where the Hmong son from next door, Vang Thao Lor, breaks into Kowalski s garage and tries to
steal his classic car, the Gran Torino. The reasoning behind him doing this is because Thao s
cousin is trying to get him involved in his gang and as an entry ritual he makes him steal the car,
thus being non successful. This major plot line is encircled with the constant violence of Mexican
and Korean gangs. The violence starts with language and suggested weapons and ends up with
strong violence including rape and eventual death of

The Kreme Of Krispy Kreme
Vernon Carver Rudolph established Krispy Kreme Doughnuts in 1937 in Winston Salem, North
Carolina. Krispy Kreme produced doughnuts on a much larger scale by the 1950 s via an
automated system. They introduced their Doughnut Theater in the 1980 s, which allowed its
customers to watch the production process, giving them a multi sensory experience. They were
able to expand to California by 1999 because of their one of a kind atmosphere (Krispy Kreme2011
Annual Report).
They opened their first international store in Canada two years later and experienced rapid
growth through 2004. Their success slowed over the next five years because they could not
sustain their growth. They closed 240 domestic stores, which cost $300 million. International
growth boomed, and 396 new stores opened around the world. In 2011, domestic markets began
to look up for the first time since 2005. Krispy Kreme is divided between its domestic and
international business and subdivided by its on site and off site sales with 229 domestic stores and
317 international ones (Krispy Kreme 2011 Annual Report).
Krispy Kreme plans to remain primarily a doughnut shop since 88 percent of their sales result from
its doughnuts. In 2011, Krispy Kreme had total revenues of $362 million, a 4.5 percent increase.
Doughnut sales in grocery stores have had a steady one percent annual increase while convenience
stores are expanding at a slightly faster pace of two %. As competition increased and the turn of the

Odysseus Disguise In O Brother Where Art Thou
In the film O Brother, Where Art Thou?, the moment when Everett disguises himself as an
elderly musician to see his wife parallels the moment in The Odyssey when Odysseus disguises
himself as a beggar before seeing his wife whom he has been distanced from for far too long. As
people gather in the banquet kitchen hall, Everett, Pete, and Delmar walk up onto the stage
disguised as old men with long beards, convincing the past act that they are up next. This is
crazy. No one s ever gonna believe we re a real band. Everett insists that his plan will work,
saying, I just gotta get close enough to talk to her. Likewise, Odysseus is in disguise when meeting
face to face with Penelope for the first time in over twenty years. [Pallas Athena] has

What Is The Central Idea Of The Black Cat
The black cat is a story by Edgar Allen Poe. Some say he s a psychopath, or he s a loony, maybe
even some people say he s normal but in reality he was antisocial and he didn t like people. In this
story unbelievable things happen because of his imagination. He was married, he had a good wife,
they didn t have children, but they were very fond to animals, they had much love for many
different animals in their home. The narrator told us in the beginning of the story that he was going
to die the next day, throughout the story he told us why.
Him and his wife had a cat named pluto many other animals but he was closest to the cat. The
narrator and the cat were close, they had a bond. Then the narrator started coming home in the
wrong mind, drunk! The narrator came home one night drunk and tried to give the cat love and
play with him, then the cat clawed the guy and tried to bite him it made him mad so he took his
pocket knife out of his pocket and stabbed the cats eye out. Soon the cat recovered and still the
narrator was getting drunk. the narrator loved the cat alot, he noticed every time he was around the

Effectiveness of Fiscal Policy as a Stabilization Tool
The Effectiveness of Fiscal Policy as Stabilization Policy
Alan J. Auerbach University of California, Berkeley July 2005
This paper was presented at the Bank of Korea International Conference, The Effectiveness of
Stabilization Policies, Seoul, May 2005. I am grateful to my discussants, Takatoshi Ito and Chung
Mo Koo, and other conference participants for comments on an earlier draft.
I. Introduction
Perspectives among economists on the usefulness of fiscal policy as a device for macroeconomic
management have moved back and forth over the years. Belief in the active use of the tools of
fiscal policy may have reached a relative peak sometime during the 1960s or early 1970s, and
practice followed theory. In the United States, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, one might wish to announce that the ITC would be eliminated in the future, to spur
investment today, but once the future arrived, and today s investment had already taken place,
2
it might no longer be optimal to repeal the credit. Hence, in addition to the policy lags that made the
implementation of policy difficult, one was confronted with two major additional obstacles: first, to
figure out how to evaluate potential policies and, second, to recognize that agents react not to
policies that are announced, but to policies that are expected. To these three hurdles, policy lags,
model instability, and dynamic inconsistency, the literature added several others. There was, of
course, the problem that estimates of behavioral responses to fiscal policy were just that estimates
of parameters, not the parameters themselves. Even with a stable model, i.e., one based on
exogenous taste and technology parameters, uncertainty about model parameters militated against
activism, as shown by Brainard (1967). Moreover, determining the right behavioral model is a
difficult task, given that all models involve simplifying assumptions, and some models of
household and firm decisions suggested that fiscal policy changes would be ineffective. For
example, there has been a long debate in the investment literature about the importance of the user
cost of capital as a determinant of investment, relating to such

I personally do not like being micro managed and have always loved seniors who would leave
my responsibilities to me, and all they would ask for an update around the deadline. This helped
me a lot in my domain. Not only did it give me the room to do my own research and understand
the project but the responsibility bestowed upon me also gave me a sense of ownership of the
deliverables. Once I acquire ownership, it steers me to perform better and knowing that the credit
for a good work will not go to someone else only boosts the performance. As asserted by Chambers
(2009) micromanagement is more often than not, perceived as negative management style. This
kind of management style is inflicted upon employees who are considered high maintenance, which
can only ruin the morale of the employee. This has led me to develop my own management style
that does not essentially micromanage the team or give stringent directions. Team members are free
to explore, enhance and be creative with their approach towards management, the developments are
then discussed in process flow meetings and recommendations are

How Is Jason Related To Medea
Medea is a Greek tragedy that follows the mythical hero Jason after his quest for the Golden
Fleece. Jason is planning to marry someone he believes will increase his social standing while
abandoning Medea, his current wife, and his children. Medea had previously aided Jason on his
quest due to Aphrodite causing her to fall in love with Jason. Medea, feeling betrayed and wanting
revenge on her husband, plans to show her power. Recurring themes in Medea include revenge,
betrayal, and the position of women within society. During Jason s quest Medea aided him due
to Aphrodite causing Medea to fall in love with Jason. After their return, Jason and Medea marry,
with her giving him two children, and he becomes unfaithful to her. Medea is extremely hurt by
Jason s betrayal and the King, fearing her revenge, exiles her. Medea, after some pleading, is

Oral History Interview
The individual I chose to interview for my oral history project was actually the Vice Principal of
my school and his name was Mr. Clair. During our interview, he relayed to me the experiences he
went during the Civil Rights Movement. What I was told during this interview was surprisingly
different from what I was expecting, I was expecting to hear stories about how my interviewee
witnessed many people of color being abused and segregated to the extremes. However, what I
heard was a bit calmer than that and surprisingly, did not involve much violence at all. Mr. Clair
told me about how he was only a young boy, around ten years old when the civil rights movement
began to take off and in his school the main reaction he had was utter dismay. It was shocking and...

This was amusing to me because the Civil Rights Movement was having a direct impact on his
life. This forced him to make the choice to either support this movement that was occurring in his
school or just go on with his life. Being the young boy he was, my interviewee didn t really have
a reaction to this decision, he did what his parents decided to do. That isn t surprising because
most children usually follow their parents, however; what made this so interesting was the fact that
his parents made the decision not to do anything about the actions going on around them. If I was
put in this same situation I would probably do the same thing my interviewee did, just stay neutral
and don t actively participate in any actions against the Civil Rights Movement. I would do this
because I am a person who tends to mind my own business unless something actually has an effect
on my life. In this situation, having colored kids leave my school isn t really something that would

Lund Research Ltd (2012) described informed consent as the participant s understanding that they
are taking part in research and what the research requires of them. Global Health Research (2000)

researcher and the participant that starts before the research is initiated and continues throughout
the study.
Where possible, participants should be informed about the nature of the study and all the aspect of

Little Tracey Character Analysis
The book is taking place in community in Australia. It s about a group who friends who sit
waiting for the bus at the bus shelter. At the bus shelter they play a game. The game being that
they make up stories and they keep it going. One day one of the characters, whose name is Anna,
tells a story in honor for another character, whose named Little Tracey, about a girl. Not just any
ordinary girl, but the daughter of Adolf Hitler. The name of the girl in the story who is Hitler s
daughter is Heidi. In Anna s story Hitler doesn t really like the fact his daughter isn t of perfect
race . His definition of perfect race would be blue eyes, blond hair, tall children who could run
and jump and conquer the world, however; his daughter was small like him, and dark, and her
face was marked like an iron had burnt across it, and she limped. (French 11) In Anna s story
Heidi did not have a mum that she must ve died because Heidi never met her either.
Throughout Anna telling the story Mark (a friend from the group) becomes more interested in her
story. He continues to ask questions that he has about the specific part that Anna is telling about in
her story. Questions pertaining to the relationship between Heidi and her father; Hitler. Questions
like how can Heidi want someone like Hitler, her father, to love her if he is so cruel. Asking Anna
how can Heidi not know about the concentration camps that her father had when she was his
daughter that she must know everything about him. The

Gender And Student Gender
The effects of student and professor gender on students willingness to take a class
With the pressures of successfully completing required classes, college students try to find
professors that align with their strengths. With resources available, such as teacher evaluations
and ratemyprofessor.com, it is possible to get a sense of what a professor will be like before
registering to take the class. Students can learn how a professor structures their classes, whether
other students believed the professor was a hard grader, or simply a hard teacher overall. Some
students evaluate the professors on their personalities and if they were engaging enough with the
students. While some students will also include recommendations to take the class with a certain
professor, some students warn to stay away from the professor. With many variables influencing
how a student may evaluate a professor, I wonder what effects can be seen of professor gender and
student gender on their class evaluations and willingness to take that professors class.
Hypotheses
With this question in mind, I formed the following hypotheses. Students give more favorable
evaluations of female professors versus male professors. Male students are more willing to take a
class with a professor than female students. When a professor is female, male students are more
willing to take the class than female students. Lastly, I predict that students willingness to take the
class will be positively correlated with their

Deviance And Social Control Book Report
For many years deviant behavior and social control have been a common topic of discussion.
The book Deviance and Social control by Michelle Inderbitzin, Kristin Bates and Randy Gainey,
gives readers a greater outlook on the relationship between deviance and social control. When
someone acts or behaves in a way that is different from what is considered as a norm or an
accepted social standard, it is known as deviance. For example, this explains when people join
gangs, or even become murderers. Objectively given conception of deviance is when everyone
agrees to general set of norms; this means everyone agrees to a particular norm and conditions of
society. However, the objectively given conception of deviance applies to gang members that
murder because murdering someone is viewed as a deviant behavior in society, and is viewed as
unacceptable. Disciplinary actions that take place when... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Formal social control includes all sorts of processing by the criminal justice system, such as parole,
probation, imprisonment, fines, and hospitalization in a rehabilitation facility or mental institution.
At the age of 25 or older violent criminals should be sentenced to jail for the rest of their lives, and
those under 25 years of age should be incarcerated for 20 years. In this new version of social control
inmates that were arrested for murder would not receive commissary throughout their entire
sentence, and they should not be near the other populations. The death penalty should not be
acceptable in any states no matter what illegal behavior caused the offender to be imprisoned. The
inmates rap sheet should play a major part into their indictment as well. There should be a
counseling program for the inmates so that they can understand what they have done, the factors
that lead to that outcome, and most importantly coming to acceptance of ones

Analysis Of The American Dream In Death Of A Salesman
Death of Salesman is a story about an extremely hard working man, named Willy, and his family
who are struggling in fulfilling their dreams. In Death of a Salesman, Willy has many
conflicting feelings with his jobless son Biff. Throughout the story, Willy believes that success
will come to him if he works the hardest he can and by being famous in the spectrum of business
and jobs. Biff on the other hand realizes that this is not the way success is achieved and is more
angered by his father s delusions towards this idea. In the end of the book, Willy starts to realize
that Biff might be correct after all after Willy was fired from his job and decides to commit
suicide as a result to get insurance money for Biff to start a business. Willy s unshakeable pridein
this belief, also called The American Dream , ultimately led to his demise and most importantly
his death. In Death of a Salesman, Arthur Miller uses an illusional tone, repetition, and idiomatic
phrases to exemplify the idea that having excessive pride in a certain belief is going to
ultimately lead to a person s demise. Arthur Miller uses an illusive tone throughout the story
when Willy is discussing the success he had in his past. Although this tone makes it seem like
Willy is being treated unjustly because of his previous successes that is not necessarily true. The
quote, ... in 1928 I had a big year. I averaged a hundred and seventy dollars a week in
commissions (Miller 82) , shows how Willy s belief that he has worked and accomplished too
much to be fired by Howard. The statement Willy makes is actually false. In reality he was never
this successful and in return shows that he is not that much worth to the firm. This creates an
illusive tone because it shows a deceptive memory that was untrue and makes it seem like Willy
is being unfairly treated, but in reality is just showing that Willy has too much pride in himself to
the point that he remembers things that are untrue, thus alluding back to the purpose that having
too much pride in a belief is going to ultimately lead to their demise. Another way Miller shows
Willy s excessive pride is when Willy tries to emphasize the wonder of America by saying, ...and
that s the wonder, the wonder of

Insider Trading And Stock Market
Furthermore, many economists believe that insider trading leads to instability in the market.
Economists Julan Du and Shang Jin Wei suggest that when the market is at higher volatility, insider
trading has mainly a part to play in this instability of the market. However, these two economists
also believe that many other factors play into the market efficiency and insider trading. Some of
these factors include: financial and economic policies, and the maturity of the stock marketat the
current time that insider trading occurs. There are many people who believe that insider trading
effects market efficiency in a negative manner. However, there are plenty of studies that have been
conducted that show otherwise. These studies were done in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

When a company issues new shares to an investor, the capitals from these shares are spread to that
company. However, the problem that is seen is: product market flaws tend to create a monopoly,
instead of making the market even with investors. According to Joel Peress when trades are
initiated by insiders, and the information content of stock prices is higher for firms with more
market power (pg.34). This is one of the main reasons that insider trading is in fact illegal in the
United States of America. When insider trading occurs, it only benefits bigger companies, thus
creating very limited opportunities for smaller companies to expand. There was a study done by
Stephanie Roddenberry Dr. Frank Bacon: a student and a professor in accounting at Longwood
University. They took a look at weather insiders buy low and sell high. They studied that when
insiders and investors acted on non public information, earned above normal returns, than those
investors who were not able to earn above the normal risk of acting on the public announcement. In
conclusion, there are many opinions on insider trading affecting the market efficiency, but there has
been determined that when the there is less regulation in the market, it seems more often that it
affects the equity markets. As a result, when insider trading is being regulated by an agency. There
are many agencies that enforce rules on insider trading. In addition, there is one main agency that

How Plot And Character Affect The Experience Of Tragic Art...
How Plot and Character Affect the Experience of Tragic Art
The experience of tragic art can be determined through the plot setup, the type of tragedy, and how
the plot appeals to the audience. Aristotle incorporated distinct rules in his passage about how a
plot should be arranged. He indicates that a tragedy must contain a prologue, episode, exode, and a
choral portion... (Aristotle, 2324), but does a plot need to be so planned? The plot should have
some structure, but it should also flow naturally and freely. If there is too much planning in the
plot, then the storyline will be too predictable. New ideas and turning points should be part of
the story in order to keep the audience on their toes. The scenes of the plot can be about realistic
events or about imaginary events. If the events are realistic it may appeal more to the audience in
a personal way. Having a strategically planned plot will keep the story line on track and there will
be no unexpected surprises. This however ruins the aesthetic of the development of the characters.
The characters need to encounter unexpected consequences and surprises in order to create a less
expected appeal in the audience. The plot in fact should be so framed that, even without seeing the
things take place, he who simply hears the account of them shall be filled with horror and pity at
the incidents... (Aristotle, 2326). He believes that a planned plot will allow the audience to receive
more emotions from the tragedy. The audience

Steve Ells is a chairman and CEO of Chipotle, and he wanted to transform the food from serving
fast but low quality to high quality. By year end 2005, Chipotle had 489 locations in 24 states.
With an unusually limited menu and the ability to have a customer s order ready quickly, Chipotle
can serve 300 customers in an hour, keep the number of customers waiting in line at peak hours to a
tolerable minimum. Chipotle has re vamped their mission statement to a simple but effective, Food
with Integrity. This embodies Chipotle s position on the importance of using animals that are
naturally raised in happy environments. Chipotle believes it is important for people to know where
their food comes from.

Why I Become A Nurse
Why I Want to Become A Nurse
When people ask me the question, Jas, why do you want to be a nurse? The first answer that
comes to mind would be the generic answer, Because I want to help people. However, during the
process of being in Lower Division and competing with almost 400 other students with the hopes
of being accepted into Upper Division my mindset has changed. After studying my hardest
through each class I am in and overcoming the challenges that come with each one, I am more
determined than ever to be a nurse, more specifically a Traveling Registered Nurse, and I will not
let anything stop me from reaching that goal. Ever since I was younger my parents have taught
me to share, be caring, and always have a giving heart. As I went through high school I knew I
wanted to be in the medical profession but I could not decide where. After attending a Career
Center for two years and attaining my certification to be a Nursing Assistant, I knew nursing was
the career I wanted to pursue. Nursing was the best fit for my personal values, financial
commitment of the present and the future, and the ability to travel. According to the American
Nurses Association (2015), nursing is described as the prevention of illness and injury while
alleviating any suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of an individual. Nurses will also
advocate for the care of each individual, families, communities, and even populations (American
Nursing Association, 2015). All the descriptions

American Pie Is A Song That Made A Huge Impact On Americans
American Pie is a song that made a huge impact on Americans in any time period. Don McLean
sang about the events from the nineteen fifties through nineteen seventies after Buddy Holly s
death. Many events from those years are controversial. McLean also stated how music changed
from these decades. Rock n Roll used to be popular since the fifties. American Pie by Don
McLean describes the transition in Rock n Roll music from the iconic history of the mid
nineteen hundred. Nonetheless, many critics assume the first line of the chorus relates to
McLean s relationship with the Miss America contestant. According to the Understanding
American Pie website, the catchy phrase, So bye bye, Miss American Pie, refers to, the beauty
queen Miss America (Fann 3). During McLean s successful career, he dated Miss America,
which Americans said that she is as American as an apple pie. She represents the simplicity in
American history that carried meaning. Miss America does not correlate with the theme of the
song. The transformation of Rock n Roll music was impacted by different elements instead of
Miss America. The lyric, So bye bye, Miss American Pie, that Americans assume is the Miss
America never cause the change of events and music. Primarily, McLean wrote this song after his
Rock n Roll musicians who crashed in the plane accident. Based on the Genius website, Don
McLean quoted a phrase in the chorus that repeats, [ ...] This will be the day that I died (1). When

Analysis Of Usaid s Enterprise Transition Plan Essay
The components of IT products, services, tools, and partner organizations assist business processes
as an Agency wide solution to manage USAID s global portfolio. The operational strategy includes
upgrading and reinforcing existing business and IT capabilities through a development information
system (DIS). Included in USAID s Internet Technology Strategic Plan 2016 2020, is an enterprise
transition roadmap (ERT) that enhances capabilities needed in security, enterprise information
management, cloud and infrastructure, application modernization, mobility, and points to the
projects necessary for building these capabilities (p. 20). Additional activities focus on the
interdependency of IT systems to enhance human capital and talent management by streamlining
workflows to achieve Agency goals. The strategy to align information plans in Figure 2 below
illustrates USAID s interdependency strategy. Figure 2: Alignment of Implementation Plans The
enterprise transition plan provides a competitive advantage that maximizes the latest IT
technologies from partnering organizations, suppliers, human capital investments, and government
funding sources. Competitor forces require a consistent reassessment of new and emerging
technologies. The Michael Porter Forces Model illustrates the combined forces that support
USAID s strategy to gain a competitive advantage over market competitors as seen in Figure 3

Anxiety, A Psychological, Physiological, And Behavioral...
The definition of anxiety is, a psychological, physiological, and behavioral state induced in animals
and humans by a threat to well being or survival, either actual or potential (Steimer, 2002). Anxiety
is expressed in humans through many different situations, such as having phobias resembling being
afraid of the dark when nothing threatening is there, or having social anxietycorresponding to being
nervous about interacting with others who they do not know. Many people will confuse anxiety
with fear, or use it interchangeably with fear, but there is a difference. Fear is a response to a
threat that is actually there, while anxiety is a learned response to a situation where the danger
expressed itself. It seems to have grown to the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Why would this behavior have been developed in humans? There are particular explanations that
can explain this phenomenon. For one, anxiety was developed in an environment where there were
many actual dangers, such as predators, poisonous plants as well as many other threats that were
constantly in the human environment. Humans, as well as other animals in this environment,
would probably benefit more from developing mechanisms that would cause them to avoid
taking unnecessary risks to dangerous phenomenon, or to take proper precautions when doing
so, such as traveling in groups for protection. For example, humans may have developed anxiety
towards being out in the dark because it led to a higher likelihood for those humans to survive
until they are able to reproduce, and that children are anxious of monsters in the dark for the
purpose of protection against actual predators that would devour people and end their bloodlines
if they wandered off alone. Humans may be anxious about trying unusual foods because in
ancient times, there were plenty of people that died or got sick from eating poisonous foods.
Socially, why would anxiety evolve in social situations with others? In the times of our ancestors,
if a person acted against the desires of her/his tribe, that person would risk being punished, killed,
or ostracized from the group, the latter of which may lead to almost

Police Misconduct On The Street Still Continue Throughout...
Over the years, law enforcement has been involved in many of unethical events that caused the
community to lose trust in them. There are many of reasons why it is difficult for the police to
have interaction with the citizens of the community. One reason the community do not trust the
police is because of racial profiling. Racial profiling has been going on for years and now the
community is getting tired of it. An example of racial profiling is a group of black teenagers
being pulled over because of the kind of car they are driving. Along with this act and many of other
policecorruption acts has caused the community to question themselves about law enforcement.
Many of concerns about police misconducton the street still continue throughout the community.
Cities across the globe have experienced intense altercations stemming from deadly shootings of
citizens and allegations of excessive use of force. Police are sworn in to Protect and Serve
everyone in the community no matter what racethey are. Less than a week after Katrina hit New
Orleans on September 4, 2005, police executed 40 year old Ronald Madison and 17 year old
James Brissette and injured four others. Five of the New Orleans covered up the corruption by

Spider Man Homecoming Analysis
Spider Man: Homecoming Review When asked what makes the character of Spider Man so
popular, most people would probably say that it is due to his relatability. Peter Parker is just a
kid, like all of us are or were, and that instantly makes him accessible to a wide audience.
However, I never thought about that when I was a child. I grew up on the Sam Raimifilms, which I
still hold near and dear to my heart. I suppose I wasn t smart enough at the time to realize the
massive appeal of the Spider Mancharacter. For me, Spider Man was just cool because of his
colorful costume and his amazing powers. I was just a kid who loved awesome superheroes,
and Spidey checked that box. Having graduated high school and preparing for college, I am now
more aware of subtleties and nuances in film, while still retaining that childlike excitement for
massive blockbusters. I have been anticipating the latest Spidey film for a very long time, and
upon viewing the film twice, I ve realized a glorious truth. For the first time in my life, at the age
of 18, I finally related to the character on a deeper level than I ever thought possible, and that is
what makes this film shine. Spider Man: Homecoming is the 16th installment of the Marvel
Cinematic Universe and the 3rd reboot of the titular character in less than 20 years. Directed by Jon

The main cause of the incident was the late transfer of the MIC from the Tank 610 which was use
to produce pesticide to the SEVIN unit when they realized that water had entered the storage tank.
During the time range from 12.15 am to 12.30am on 3rd December 1984, the investigation team
had concluded that there was a transfer of MIC from Tank 610 although the data in the logs had
been falsified. The team got an attempt to remove water from the Tank 610 when they knew that
the safety valves of the system lifted and the pressure in the storage tank was high enough to
release the MIC water mixture compound. The transfer seemed to be impracticable as the remove
of the one ton of the material was not enough to relief the pressure in the tank. The only thing that
the workers could do was to remove the water that found in the tank. Anyway, the transfer of the
MIC compound was too late because the pressure of the Tank 610 was too high to get control.
Perhaps, this poor incident happened due to the technological, organization and human errors. The
safety and maintenance procedures for the manufacturing plants had been ignored for months due
to the financial problem faced by the company. Firstly, the MIC compound stored in the Tank 610
had overloaded. In reality, the content of MIC in the tank cannot be more than 50%. But for this

Film Noir The 40s
Hollywood in the 1940s produced hundreds of films, many of which define the decade. America
was in a dark time; most movies were used to cheer people during or after the war. Movies made by
Walt Disney cheered up children and families with fun cartoons and happy endings. (Dirks, N.P.)
Romantic dramas contented couples everywhere, showing them what might or might not have been

The camera cuts away in the middle of this action, leaving the bag theoretically floating
somewhere in mid space. The next scene, however, begins with Enid grabbing the bag off of a
table where she sitting with her best friend Rebecca. The result is the feeling one single motion:
the bag leaving Seymour s hands and entering Enid s. This idea of continuous motion reoccurs
several times during the film helping the viewer connect scenes as well as ideas. Across screen
movement is another technique used to smooth edit points in the film. Often a person or group
of people walking across the screen will act as a wipe, pushing the last scene off while
introducing the next. Most of the time the wipe is an insignificant character such as a jogger or a
car driving by. Human wipes are also used within scenes to lead camera movement. A great
example of this is Enid s art opening scene. In this scene the camera uses one continuous shot to
move from the outside of the gallery to the room where Enid s piece is hanging. However this
movement is not done in a single motion. Through out this movement the camera pauses three
times, each time motivated to move again by a group of people walking in front of the camera in
the same direction. This makes the movement of the camera surprisingly subtle. nbsp; Ghost World

Coffee Is The Real Coffee
Espresso Coffee is the Real Coffee
Drinking coffee is a natural habit for any Italian person. Coffee is a strong part of our culture,
and we used to drink it since we were little more than children. Usually for Italians coffee is more
than something to drink because it s an important moment in our everyday routine. In fact, we take
it several times a day, even though we know that this is an unhealthy habit. This is probably the
reason why we don t see another type of coffee preparations like real coffee. Italian coffee
generally called espresso, is simply the coffee, and it is better than the drip coffee because of its
natural and strong taste and the fact that it contains less caffeine ( Caffeine ).

father, used to drink coffee every morning at home. So it was only a matter of time till I was
curious to try it out. At first, I have to admit I found it disgusting. This was probably because, as
my father said, of my young age. Children are more sensitive towards strong flavors, and at that
time its bitterness really made me feel sick. For several years after that experience I ignored
coffee as an ailment, and I would eat cereal in the morning. However, this situation ended when I
was twelve years old. Some of my friends were drinking coffee at that age, and that was
considered something cool, something for a true man. So for these childish reasons I decided to

Gender Is A Now A Large Topic For Modern Society
Gender is a now a huge topic for modern days. How can you classify a gender in modern society?
The answer to this question cannot be answered in modern society but in the past countries were
the ones to label genders. Tell them who they are, what is there role, how you support the
country in this role. Nazi Germany told to raise and birth children . Soviet Union you will raise
children and birth them but also be a soldier and fight when needed. You will be treated as a man
but with the duty of a woman . Women in Colonial Quito were legally obligated to practice
obedience to their husbands. Women were dominated by their husbands and faced abused.
Because this was how society viewed a role of a women in their society . Also in Brazil a boy
had to act like a man if he was what they defined as a subversives they were acting feminine and
that creates weakness for the nation as acting feminine allowed them to get pregnant by
communism . The genderinequalities and differences have been socially constructed and
scientifically quantified by countries in order to protect the civilization and control the
population. Women in Nazi Germany and Soviet Union both had different social roles in what
they considered service to their country as they were socially constructed to maintain their
civilization. In Nazi Germany the Nation was above all and society had to be shaped the way
they saw pure. Women had to give birth to this pure race and take care of the children. This was
your role as

Case Study Of Henry Molaison, A Man With Global Amnesia
Case 1 tells the story of Henry Molaison (HM), a man with no memory. He lost his memory due to
the operation of suctioned out the hippocampus to treat his epileptic seizures. At that time, it was
not known yet that the hippocampus was essential for making memories. After operation, his
seizures were significantly reduced, but Henry suffered a global amnesia. Owen et al. (2007)
describes patients with global amnesia as perceptive and attentive but with a total loss of short term
memoryand some trouble accessing memories of the recent past. Henry could not learn new things
as he quickly forgot everything that he had learned. He could learn at a subconscious level only.

Memory is the process involved in retaining, retrieving and using information about stimuli,
images, events, ideas and skills after the original information is no longer present. We can relate
this case with what we learn in psychology. Short term memory holds information from 15 until
30 seconds whereas long term memory holds information for years. Short term memory (STM) is
the system that is involved in storing small amount of information for a brief period of time while
long term memory (LTM) is the system that is responsible for storing information for long periods
of time and recall information about past events in lives and knowledge learned.
Without the hippocampus, the information from the short term memory (STM) cannot be stored
in long term memory (LTM). The hippocampus is a very important part of the human brain to
store our memories. If we lost it, we will lose all our conscious memories. From Henry s case, it
also discovered that there are multiple memory storage areas located at different parts of the brain
while the hippocampus is important to consolidate short term memory to long term memory. The
removal of hippocampus caused Henry to suffer until he died as he lost the ability to make new
conscious

Gilead s Motherhood
In this novel motherhood is portrayed as some kind of power and/or privilege. In Gilead not all
women can have children so certain women become national resource. They are stripped away
from their identity, family, jobs, and money and become used by the government. The
government uses women as machines just to create healthy babies for the wives to rise as their
own child. The government makes handmaids feel like they are important. They try to make
them believe that giving birth is such a good thing. In reality Gilead is oppressing them because
even if they were to have a baby they wouldn t be able to play the role of mothers. Motherhood is
a luxury and definitely not for the handmaids. Gilead controls this closely because it s needed in

Professional Athletes Underpaid
Are professional athletes paid too much? Do they really need millions of dollars for playing a
sport? There are many that believe sports stars deserve the money they make, but is that really
true? Professional athletes get paid too much because they earn millions of dollars every season
and there are jobs that are more important to our economy and yet they are still underpaid. First of
all, many believe that professional athletes earn the money they make because they have worked
hard to become a professional athlete. Jamal E. M. Cummins believes that professional athletes are
underpaid and states that one factor is the time they spend practicing...another factor to consider is
the risk of injury. The sports industry is a billion dollar business

Consequences Of PBL Corporal Punishment
PBL Corporal Punishment April 19, 2017, will mark the fortieth anniversary of the historic
Ingraham v. Wright ruling. Although perhaps not as well known as other Supreme Court cases
such, as Marbury v. Madison (which will forever be tattooed on any U.S. History student s brain),
it is still a milestone in America s past, one whose repercussions echo to this day. Ingraham v.
Wrightconcluded that corporal punishmentin schools was not a violation of a student s constitutional
rights, as James Ingraham, a student whose severe punishment necessitated medical attention, had
proposed (Oluwole). In the end, the judge adhered to this American tradition by defending it as
reasonable, not excessive, and by allowing it to continue with only a few regulations... Show more

Wright case. Forty years since the United States, the same country whose constitution protects its
citizen from cruel and unusual punishment, defended physical aggression against children. It s been
forty years, and many things have changed: the Iron Curtain fell, Britney Spears had her iconic
mental breakdown, and (thankfully) parachute pants went out of style. However, corporal
punishment has continued to be practiced in thousands of schools, despite innumerable case
studies, experiments, and testimonies that deny its validity. Corporal punishment should stop being
practiced in schools because it does not fix behavioral issues and because it leaves lasting physical
and emotional scars on a child. It is a relic of a different era, a method that has been tried and that
has failed. Why our society continues to implement this unqualified method astonishes not only
American citizens, but nations across the world. America, you laud yourself on your equality, your
fairness, your haven for the oppressed and beaten down. However, both allow and defend
unconstitutional, cruel punishment in you schools, where your children spend their days. It is time
to end this practice, if not for the morality of the situation, but for the cost it places on your forward

Moderation Experience Paper

Previous Moderation Experience:
I have been staff on many servers. Some of them were not as big as the other. I have owned my
own server and have been staff on another. I will list my experience in order from first server to last
server:
Enjoicraft Enjoicraft was the first server I was ever staff on. I was pretty young when I first
joined and I was pretty bad at being a staff. However, I managed to get up to Mod+ at the end. I
was staff a long side with my cousin AimbotDotEXE. He was admin however. I got demoted at the
end because I went on vacation with out telling the owner, so he thought I was very inactive. It was
a mistake made from a rookie staff member. I was staff for around 1 2 months.

The server had a spike of popularity during the second map. When I say spike of popularity , I
mean the player base was ranging for 70 80 players. My server host wasn t very good, as it was
recommended by a friend. My server kept crashing a lot and people got very annoyed by this, so
they left. We had to shut down our server soon, since the server was lacking in funds because of
this. I do not want to see this server to become like my server. Not saying that the host is bad,
however I want the server to be hacker free. I have prevented the very little hackers on my server
from cheating, and I am planning to do so on Climax! Other than that, I think I put two sections in

Varian Argue That The Fundamental Principles
Varian (1999) argues that the fundamental principles with regard to competition are very much
relevant to the new economy considering the changes ushered by e commerce. These principles
include marketing, interconnection, and price matching. According to him, marketing is very much
present in e commerce since electronic retailers use versioning. Like loyalty programs and
promotions to increase their market shares. Interconnection is also of the utmost importance as
consumers want to be connected to as large a network as possible. Finally, intense price
competition would also prompt merchants to look for ways to increase customer loyalty and adopt
pricing strategies that reduce the intensity of competition (De Vera, 2004). In the other hand,

Between Wonder, Imagination And Space In A Midsummer s...
In A Midsummer s Night Dream, Shakespeare tells us a poet s task is to transform things
unknown to shapes that give to airy nothing a local habitation and a name, suggesting a defined
context ( local habitation ) and words ( a name ) (5.1.65). Without a named place we live in a
chaotic world. Likewise, without the development of language from a pool of amorphous
sensations in our brain we cannot begin to approach creativity. Words and how they are used
become tools to chisel meaning from undefined emotion. This process of making creative order out
of chaos begins with the child s senseof wonder and curiosity. The relationship between wonder,
imagination and space is a complex one, even a poetic one. We begin life in a pre verbal
paradisiacal state. With the acquisition of language comes a separation akin to the fall, resulting in
melancholy and a desire to return to this preverbal bliss. Through a close examination of Alice in
Wonderlandand Through the Looking Glass we can explore universal grammatical structures, using
linguistic techniques and other literary devices to show these connections and how they inspire
wonder in children.
II.Exposition: The Wondrous Landscape A.Definition of Wonder and Imagination
But how do we define wonder and how is it related to imagination ? Moreover what have these two
concepts to do with language and ultimately the power to inspire children to be creative? The
Oxford English Dictionary uses words like astonishment,

  • 2. The Rank Of Eagle Scout Essay Achievement is a very important thing for many reasons. Our achievements are what define us and give us purpose. Achievement helps determine just how far we are willing to go to achieve goals and to make ourselves successful. I have worked for many achievements, in my lifetime, and I have many things that I am proud of. However, out of all of my achievements, I would say that my greatest achievement, was earning the rank of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America. The rank of Eagle Scout is not something that is easily achieved. Many people have struggled to obtain the rank and have failed. However, many of America s most influential figures have won the rank of Eagle Scout. Neil Armstrong, Hank Aaron, and Rick Perry are just a few well known figures who have obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. To add the rank s prestige and importance, those who do receive the rank make up a very small portion of the Boy Scouts who join the program. When I was seven years old, I remember seeing boys from the school s Cub Scouts program walking through the hallway. Dawned in dark blue uniforms, with orange neckties, and many colorful badges, these scouts stunned me by the unity and patriotic spirit that they showed. That evening, I went home from school and ran to the kitchen table where my father was sitting. I explained to him that I wanted to join scouting. He smiled at me and quickly took me to the local Boy Scouts headquarters, where I was signed up for a pack as it was called. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The renting of the offices has a certain degree of flexibility, designed to be let floor by floor, as well as village by village. Levels 38 40 contain a luxurious sky bar and restaurant overlooking the city rooftops. At the base of the tower there are three basement levels for retail, parking, storage and management services. The site is in an inner city area, free space is sparse and commercial business competitive. (The Heron Tower, 2010, [online] available at http://www.herontower.com/the_building/ [Accessed 24/4/10]). • 5. How Did Emily Dickinson Influence Her Work Emily Dickinson is currently considered one of the most famous American authors, despite the fact that her work was not well known in her own day. Emily was notable to American Literature, and she sealed the road for several of today s poets. She was a creative poet, determined writer, and an extreme introvert who never gave up. Emily Dickinsonwas born on December 10, 1830 and passed away at age 55 on May 15, 1886. ( Emily Famous). Having grown up in poverty, it influenced her poems greatly. Emily Dickinson s father, Edward Dickinson, was a lawyer, a member of Congress, and the treasurer of Amherst College ( Emily Encyclopedia). It is very popular because she uses this metaphor through a bird, showing that even in the hard times we should still have hope ( Emily Study). Theres many reasons why this poem is so popular, one being the way she puts commas around the word hope (O Connor). Hope is the Thing with Feathers is also a very positive poem, and many people feel as if it speaks right to the heart (O Connor). There is a lot of reviews saying that it just has a pleasant type of message (O Connor). Many people also find it a very good description of hope, and many people love it because they feel as if they can relate to it (O Connor). This poem was published in 1891 in the 2nd collection of Dickinson s work, Poems by Emily Dickinson, second series ( Hope Encyclopedia). My opinion of Hope is the Thing with Feathers would have to be that she was very clear with her message. Not only do I feel that I can relate to it, I feel as if many other people can relate to it. That poems main point is about hope and how you should believe in it whenever things are not looking up for you, and I think that is very true. Many times people get discouraged and think that there is nothing left but there is, and it is hope. I highly agree with Dickinson in her poem Hope is the Thing with Feathers . Other people who have written reviews on the poem say that it gives them chills, and that they adored this poem ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How Is Gran Torino Related To Sociology Gran Torino To what extent has Clint Eastwood portrayed the struggle between different cultural groups within the film Gran Torino In the film Gran Torino the director, Clint Eastwood, has shown the immense struggle between the different races in such a way that is realistic to the modern day today. Strong wiled war veteran Walter Kowalski, played by director Clint Eastwood, is under going a major change in society. The neighbour hood in which he has always lived in is in desperate need of cultural acceptance and change. In this Eastwood film there is massive showing of the evolution of violence. Where it started and how it ended within the Hmong community. The main character, Walter Kowalski, has many issues with cultural difference. This stems from his old fashioned views on life and his traumatic past. There is a breaking point in the movie where the Hmong son from next door, Vang Thao Lor, breaks into Kowalski s garage and tries to steal his classic car, the Gran Torino. The reasoning behind him doing this is because Thao s cousin is trying to get him involved in his gang and as an entry ritual he makes him steal the car, thus being non successful. I am grateful to my discussants, Takatoshi Ito and Chung Mo Koo, and other conference participants for comments on an earlier draft. I. Introduction Perspectives among economists on the usefulness of fiscal policy as a device for macroeconomic management have moved back and forth over the years. Belief in the active use of the tools of fiscal policy may have reached a relative peak sometime during the 1960s or early 1970s, and practice followed theory. In the United States, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, one might wish to announce that the ITC would be eliminated in the future, to spur investment today, but once the future arrived, and today s investment had already taken place, 2 it might no longer be optimal to repeal the credit. Hence, in addition to the policy lags that made the implementation of policy difficult, one was confronted with two major additional obstacles: first, to figure out how to evaluate potential policies and, second, to recognize that agents react not to policies that are announced, but to policies that are expected. To these three hurdles, policy lags, model instability, and dynamic inconsistency, the literature added several others. There was, of course, the problem that estimates of behavioral responses to fiscal policy were just that estimates of parameters, not the parameters themselves. Even with a stable model, i.e., one based on exogenous taste and technology parameters, uncertainty about model parameters militated against activism, as shown by Brainard (1967). Moreover, determining the right behavioral model is a difficult task, given that all models involve simplifying assumptions, and some models of household and firm decisions suggested that fiscal policy changes would be ineffective. For example, there has been a long debate in the investment literature about the importance of the user cost of capital as a determinant of investment, relating to such ... • 17. Gender And Student Gender The effects of student and professor gender on students willingness to take a class With the pressures of successfully completing required classes, college students try to find professors that align with their strengths. With resources available, such as teacher evaluations and ratemyprofessor.com, it is possible to get a sense of what a professor will be like before registering to take the class. Students can learn how a professor structures their classes, whether other students believed the professor was a hard grader, or simply a hard teacher overall. Some students evaluate the professors on their personalities and if they were engaging enough with the students. While some students will also include recommendations to take the class with a certain professor, some students warn to stay away from the professor. With many variables influencing how a student may evaluate a professor, I wonder what effects can be seen of professor gender and student gender on their class evaluations and willingness to take that professors class. Hypotheses With this question in mind, I formed the following hypotheses. Students give more favorable evaluations of female professors versus male professors. Male students are more willing to take a class with a professor than female students. When a professor is female, male students are more willing to take the class than female students. Lastly, I predict that students willingness to take the class will be positively correlated with their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. Deviance And Social Control Book Report For many years deviant behavior and social control have been a common topic of discussion. The book Deviance and Social control by Michelle Inderbitzin, Kristin Bates and Randy Gainey, gives readers a greater outlook on the relationship between deviance and social control. When someone acts or behaves in a way that is different from what is considered as a norm or an accepted social standard, it is known as deviance. For example, this explains when people join gangs, or even become murderers. Objectively given conception of deviance is when everyone agrees to general set of norms; this means everyone agrees to a particular norm and conditions of society. However, the objectively given conception of deviance applies to gang members that murder because murdering someone is viewed as a deviant behavior in society, and is viewed as unacceptable. • 22. Analysis Of The American Dream In Death Of A Salesman Death of Salesman is a story about an extremely hard working man, named Willy, and his family who are struggling in fulfilling their dreams. In Death of a Salesman, Willy has many conflicting feelings with his jobless son Biff. Throughout the story, Willy believes that success will come to him if he works the hardest he can and by being famous in the spectrum of business and jobs. Biff on the other hand realizes that this is not the way success is achieved and is more angered by his father s delusions towards this idea. In the end of the book, Willy starts to realize that Biff might be correct after all after Willy was fired from his job and decides to commit suicide as a result to get insurance money for Biff to start a business. Willy s unshakeable pridein this belief, also called The American Dream , ultimately led to his demise and most importantly his death. In Death of a Salesman, Arthur Miller uses an illusional tone, repetition, and idiomatic phrases to exemplify the idea that having excessive pride in a certain belief is going to ultimately lead to a person s demise. Arthur Miller uses an illusive tone throughout the story when Willy is discussing the success he had in his past. Although this tone makes it seem like Willy is being treated unjustly because of his previous successes that is not necessarily true. The quote, ... in 1928 I had a big year. I averaged a hundred and seventy dollars a week in commissions (Miller 82) , shows how Willy s belief that he has worked and accomplished too much to be fired by Howard. The statement Willy makes is actually false. In reality he was never this successful and in return shows that he is not that much worth to the firm. This creates an illusive tone because it shows a deceptive memory that was untrue and makes it seem like Willy is being unfairly treated, but in reality is just showing that Willy has too much pride in himself to the point that he remembers things that are untrue, thus alluding back to the purpose that having too much pride in a belief is going to ultimately lead to their demise. Another way Miller shows Willy s excessive pride is when Willy tries to emphasize the wonder of America by saying, ...and that s the wonder, the wonder of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How Plot and Character Affect the Experience of Tragic Art The experience of tragic art can be determined through the plot setup, the type of tragedy, and how the plot appeals to the audience. Aristotle incorporated distinct rules in his passage about how a plot should be arranged. He indicates that a tragedy must contain a prologue, episode, exode, and a choral portion... (Aristotle, 2324), but does a plot need to be so planned? The plot should have some structure, but it should also flow naturally and freely. If there is too much planning in the plot, then the storyline will be too predictable. New ideas and turning points should be part of the story in order to keep the audience on their toes. The scenes of the plot can be about realistic events or about imaginary events. If the events are realistic it may appeal more to the audience in a personal way. Having a strategically planned plot will keep the story line on track and there will be no unexpected surprises. This however ruins the aesthetic of the development of the characters. The characters need to encounter unexpected consequences and surprises in order to create a less expected appeal in the audience. The plot in fact should be so framed that, even without seeing the things take place, he who simply hears the account of them shall be filled with horror and pity at the incidents... (Aristotle, 2326). He believes that a planned plot will allow the audience to receive more emotions from the tragedy. The audience ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

McLean also stated how music changed from these decades. Rock n Roll used to be popular since the fifties. American Pie by Don McLean describes the transition in Rock n Roll music from the iconic history of the mid nineteen hundred. Nonetheless, many critics assume the first line of the chorus relates to McLean s relationship with the Miss America contestant. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Why would this behavior have been developed in humans? There are particular explanations that can explain this phenomenon. For one, anxiety was developed in an environment where there were many actual dangers, such as predators, poisonous plants as well as many other threats that were constantly in the human environment. Humans, as well as other animals in this environment, would probably benefit more from developing mechanisms that would cause them to avoid taking unnecessary risks to dangerous phenomenon, or to take proper precautions when doing so, such as traveling in groups for protection. For example, humans may have developed anxiety towards being out in the dark because it led to a higher likelihood for those humans to survive until they are able to reproduce, and that children are anxious of monsters in the dark for the purpose of protection against actual predators that would devour people and end their bloodlines if they wandered off alone. Humans may be anxious about trying unusual foods because in ancient times, there were plenty of people that died or got sick from eating poisonous foods. Socially, why would anxiety evolve in social situations with others? The tone of the piece, what sort of lighting will be used, the location of the shots, and a palette for the film, are all elements that need to be considered before the actual filmmaking begins. However, even with rigorous planning, questions will still arise during shooting, questions that might not even be apparent or answered until the footage reaches the editing room. However, many shortcomings in shooting can be solved through editing. In fact, with good editing pretty much any type of footage can be made into a working piece of art. But good... The next scene, however, begins with Enid grabbing the bag off of a table where she sitting with her best friend Rebecca. The result is the feeling one single motion: the bag leaving Seymour s hands and entering Enid s. This idea of continuous motion reoccurs several times during the film helping the viewer connect scenes as well as ideas. Across screen movement is another technique used to smooth edit points in the film. Often a person or group of people walking across the screen will act as a wipe, pushing the last scene off while introducing the next. Most of the time the wipe is an insignificant character such as a jogger or a car driving by. Human wipes are also used within scenes to lead camera movement. A great example of this is Enid s art opening scene. In this scene the camera uses one continuous shot to move from the outside of the gallery to the room where Enid s piece is hanging. However this movement is not done in a single motion. Through out this movement the camera pauses three times, each time motivated to move again by a group of people walking in front of the camera in the same direction. This makes the movement of the camera surprisingly subtle. nbsp; Ghost World also uses editing as a means of establishing time and building relationships between characters. Sequential ... • 42. Coffee Is The Real Coffee Espresso Coffee is the Real Coffee Drinking coffee is a natural habit for any Italian person. Coffee is a strong part of our culture, and we used to drink it since we were little more than children. Usually for Italians coffee is more than something to drink because it s an important moment in our everyday routine. In fact, we take it several times a day, even though we know that this is an unhealthy habit. This is probably the reason why we don t see another type of coffee preparations like real coffee. Italian coffee generally called espresso, is simply the coffee, and it is better than the drip coffee because of its natural and strong taste and the fact that it contains less caffeine ( Caffeine ). Narration My personal story with coffee started when I was really young. My parents, especially my father, used to drink coffee every morning at home. So it was only a matter of time till I was curious to try it out. At first, I have to admit I found it disgusting. This was probably because, as my father said, of my young age. Children are more sensitive towards strong flavors, and at that time its bitterness really made me feel sick. For several years after that experience I ignored coffee as an ailment, and I would eat cereal in the morning. However, this situation ended when I was twelve years old. Some of my friends were drinking coffee at that age, and that was considered something cool, something for a true man. So for these childish reasons I decided to give it a ... The answer to this question cannot be answered in modern society but in the past countries were the ones to label genders. Tell them who they are, what is there role, how you support the country in this role. Nazi Germany told to raise and birth children . Soviet Union you will raise children and birth them but also be a soldier and fight when needed. You will be treated as a man but with the duty of a woman . Women in Colonial Quito were legally obligated to practice obedience to their husbands. Women were dominated by their husbands and faced abused. Because this was how society viewed a role of a women in their society . Also in Brazil a boy had to act like a man if he was what they defined as a subversives they were acting feminine and that creates weakness for the nation as acting feminine allowed them to get pregnant by communism . The genderinequalities and differences have been socially constructed and scientifically quantified by countries in order to protect the civilization and control the population. Women in Nazi Germany and Soviet Union both had different social roles in what they considered service to their country as they were socially constructed to maintain their civilization. In Nazi Germany the Nation was above all and society had to be shaped the way they saw pure. Women had to give birth to this pure race and take care of the children. This was your role as ... He lost his memory due to the operation of suctioned out the hippocampus to treat his epileptic seizures. At that time, it was not known yet that the hippocampus was essential for making memories. After operation, his seizures were significantly reduced, but Henry suffered a global amnesia. Owen et al. (2007) describes patients with global amnesia as perceptive and attentive but with a total loss of short term memoryand some trouble accessing memories of the recent past. Henry could not learn new things as he quickly forgot everything that he had learned. He could learn at a subconscious level only. Memory is the process involved in retaining, retrieving and using information about stimuli, images, events, ideas and skills after the original information is no longer present. We can relate this case with what we learn in psychology. Short term memory holds information from 15 until 30 seconds whereas long term memory holds information for years. Short term memory (STM) is the system that is involved in storing small amount of information for a brief period of time while long term memory (LTM) is the system that is responsible for storing information for long periods of time and recall information about past events in lives and knowledge learned. Without the hippocampus, the information from the short term memory (STM) cannot be stored in long term memory (LTM). The hippocampus is a very important part of the human brain to store our memories. If we lost it, we will lose all our conscious memories. From Henry s case, it also discovered that there are multiple memory storage areas located at different parts of the brain while the hippocampus is important to consolidate short term memory to long term memory. The removal of hippocampus caused Henry to suffer until he died as he lost the ability to make new conscious ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 48. Consequences Of PBL Corporal Punishment PBL Corporal Punishment April 19, 2017, will mark the fortieth anniversary of the historic Ingraham v. Wright ruling. Although perhaps not as well known as other Supreme Court cases such, as Marbury v. Madison (which will forever be tattooed on any U.S. History student s brain), it is still a milestone in America s past, one whose repercussions echo to this day. Ingraham v. Wrightconcluded that corporal punishmentin schools was not a violation of a student s constitutional rights, as James Ingraham, a student whose severe punishment necessitated medical attention, had proposed (Oluwole). In the end, the judge adhered to this American tradition by defending it as reasonable, not excessive, and by allowing it to continue with only a few regulations... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Wright case. Forty years since the United States, the same country whose constitution protects its citizen from cruel and unusual punishment, defended physical aggression against children. It s been forty years, and many things have changed: the Iron Curtain fell, Britney Spears had her iconic mental breakdown, and (thankfully) parachute pants went out of style. However, corporal punishment has continued to be practiced in thousands of schools, despite innumerable case studies, experiments, and testimonies that deny its validity. Corporal punishment should stop being practiced in schools because it does not fix behavioral issues and because it leaves lasting physical and emotional scars on a child. It is a relic of a different era, a method that has been tried and that has failed. Why our society continues to implement this unqualified method astonishes not only American citizens, but nations across the world. America, you laud yourself on your equality, your fairness, your haven for the oppressed and beaten down. However, both allow and defend unconstitutional, cruel punishment in you schools, where your children spend their days. It is time to end this practice, if not for the morality of the situation, but for the cost it places on your forward ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 50. Varian Argue That The Fundamental Principles Varian (1999) argues that the fundamental principles with regard to competition are very much relevant to the new economy considering the changes ushered by e commerce. These principles include marketing, interconnection, and price matching. According to him, marketing is very much present in e commerce since electronic retailers use versioning. Like loyalty programs and promotions to increase their market shares. Interconnection is also of the utmost importance as consumers want to be connected to as large a network as possible. Finally, intense price competition would also prompt merchants to look for ways to increase customer loyalty and adopt pricing strategies that reduce the intensity of competition (De Vera, 2004). • 51. Between Wonder, Imagination And Space In A Midsummer s... In A Midsummer s Night Dream, Shakespeare tells us a poet s task is to transform things unknown to shapes that give to airy nothing a local habitation and a name, suggesting a defined context ( local habitation ) and words ( a name ) (5.1.65). Without a named place we live in a chaotic world. Likewise, without the development of language from a pool of amorphous sensations in our brain we cannot begin to approach creativity. Words and how they are used become tools to chisel meaning from undefined emotion. This process of making creative order out of chaos begins with the child s senseof wonder and curiosity. The relationship between wonder, imagination and space is a complex one, even a poetic one. We begin life in a pre verbal paradisiacal state. With the acquisition of language comes a separation akin to the fall, resulting in melancholy and a desire to return to this preverbal bliss. Through a close examination of Alice in Wonderlandand Through the Looking Glass we can explore universal grammatical structures, using linguistic techniques and other literary devices to show these connections and how they inspire wonder in children. II.Exposition: The Wondrous Landscape A.Definition of Wonder and Imagination But how do we define wonder and how is it related to imagination ? Moreover what have these two concepts to do with language and ultimately the power to inspire children to be creative? The Oxford English Dictionary uses words like astonishment, ...
