This document provides an assignment overview for a health care administrator. The administrator has been asked to present to leadership on implementing one of three federal policies within their nonprofit hospital: strengthening emergency preparedness, reducing hospital readmissions, or complying with patient health record release regulations. The presentation should provide an overview of the chosen policy, implications for non-compliance, and recommendations for ensuring compliance. Additional research of the policy's legislation is required, and the presentation must include the citation to the federal law.

Prepare a workplace brief (8-10 double-spaced pages) to address a privacy breach that occurred in a health care organization. Include the consequences of failure to act and evidence-based recommendations for addressing the breach.
Introduction
Health care is one of the most heavily regulated major industries in the United States. Leaders are challenged to stay current and to comply with federal, state, and local laws and their associated regulations. Health care organizations are also responsible to meet industry standards. In some cases, payers equate meeting industry standards with achieving and maintaining accreditation. In fact, many payers consider accreditation a minimum condition of participation. In addition, individual licensure and certification requirements establish basic expectations for health care leaders' professional conduct.
In summary, health care leaders are responsible to:
1. Meet ethical personal, professional conduct, certification, and licensure expectations.
2. Comply with local, state, and federal health care and human resources laws.
3. Provide evidence of compliance with existing regulations and scan the field for emerging regulations.
4. Identify and meet appropriate accrediting body standards (for example, Joint Commission’s National Patient Safety Goals standards).
As an individual’s health care leadership career advances, so does the corresponding level of accountability. Not knowing the laws or regulations is not an excuse for not complying with them.
This assessment allows you to demonstrate your knowledge of and skills relating to compliance concepts, and governmental and regulatory agencies that oversee health care service delivery, billing, and general operations. You will also have the opportunity to apply the components necessary to initiate and maintain an effective compliance program. Finally, you will consider relevant human resources laws that may pertain to your compliance recommendations.
Instructions
In this assessment, you are assuming the role of an early careerist in risk management and quality improvement at one of Vila Health's community-based hospitals. Vila Health is a medium-sized system of health operating facilities in Minnesota and Wisconsin. You are working on a team-based initiative under the supervision of the Vila Health Chief Compliance Officer. Your role is to assist in addressing a specific compliance risk regarding a breach of privacy and a potential HIPAA violation. A Vila Health employee has disclosed—without prior written authorization—a patient's protected personal health information.
Here is the information the team has collected about the privacy breach and potential HIPAA violations to date. A Vila Health supervisor instructed an employee to obtain pre-authorization for an upcoming surgical procedure for a patient. The Vila Health employee submitted confidential, protected health care information about the patient to the insurance company. The Member Services Representati.
1. Policy Analysis
Introduction
Organizational policy alignment and adherence to laws and regulations is critical for overall corporate compliance and to decrease organizational risks (patient falls, medication errors, cyber hacks and PHI data breaches, infection control, et cetera). In this assignment, you will select, evaluate, and update one health care provider’s policy related to a significant regulatory risk to the health care organization.
Instructions
Select one of two options:
Option A
If you work for a hospital or health care organization you may select a policy that is of interest to you then follow these assignment instructions:
· Imagine you are a health care administrator at your current employer. Analyze the policy you selected, taking into consideration any recent changes. Evaluate what information and where that information would need to be updated. Propose revisions that are based on current identified standards and/or new guidelines that you have researched in the text or identified in other high-quality sources (that is, journals, government websites, and the like). Analyze the significance of the selected policy updates as it relates to potential litigation. (Why did the policy need updating? What threats do these changes help avoid?) Summarize your perspective on the revisions as well as any additional changes that should be considered. Present your work as an executive summary suitable for distribution to your organization’s board members.
Option B
If you do not work in the industry or do not have access to a health care policy, use the Hahnemann Falls Policy to complete this assignment. Then follow these assignment instructions:
· As you can see, this policy was written in 2012. Now, imagine you are a health care administrator working at the health care organization where this policy originates from. Analyze the policy, taking into consideration the changes in HIPAA and PHI since 2012. Evaluate what information and where that information would need to be updated for a current revision of this document. Locate the areas where you would update or add information to this 2012 version.
Your paper should be 3–5 pages long and should include a title page and references for a total of 5–7 pages.

In the era of health care reform, many of the laws and policies se.docxsleeperharwell
In the era of health care reform, many of the laws and policies set forth by government at the local, state, and federal levels have specific performance benchmarks related to care delivery outcomes that organizations must achieve. It is critical for organizational success that the interprofessional care team is able to understand reports and dashboards that display the metrics related to performance and compliance benchmarks.
Maintaining standards and promoting quality in modern health care are crucial, not only for the care of patients but also for the continuing success and financial viability of health care organizations. In the era of health care reform, health care leaders must understand what quality care entails and how quality in health care connects to the standards set forth by relevant federal, state, and local laws and policies. An understanding of relevant benchmarks that result from these laws and policies, and how they relate to quality care and regulatory standards, is also vitally important.
Health care is a dynamic, complex, and heavily regulated industry. For this reason, you will be expected to constantly scan the external environment for emerging laws, new regulations, and changing industry standards. You may discover that as new policies are enacted into law, ambiguity in interpretation of various facets of the law may occur. Sometimes, new laws conflict with preexisting laws and regulations, or unexpected implementation issues arise, which may warrant further clarification from lawmakers. Adding partisan politics and social media to the mix can further complicate understanding of the process and buy-in from stakeholders.
Instructions
Choose one of the following two options for a performance dashboard to use as the basis for your evaluation:
Option 1: Dashboard Metrics Evaluation Simulation
Use the data presented in the
Dashboard and Health Care Benchmark Evaluation
multimedia activity as the basis for your evaluation.
Note
: The writing that you do as part of the simulation could serve as a starting point to build upon for this assessment.
Option 2: Actual Dashboard
Use an actual dashboard from a professional practice setting for your evaluation. If you decide to use actual dashboard metrics, be sure to add a brief description of the organization and setting that includes:
The size of the facility that the dashboard is reporting on.
The specific type of care delivery.
The population diversity and ethnicity demographics.
The socioeconomic level of the population served by the organization.
Note
: Ensure your data are Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliant. Do not use any easily identifiable organization or patient information.
To complete this assignment:
Review the performance dashboard metrics in the Dashboard and Health Care Benchmark Evaluation media simulation, as well as relevant local, state, and federal laws and policies. Consider the metrics that are falling s.
Whether a health care policy was formulated at the federal (country).docxtwilacrt6k5
Whether a health care policy was formulated at the federal (country); state (providence or regional); or local level, policies inevitably have considerable impact on local health care organizations, communities, and relevant stakeholders. In other words, a health care policy that has far-reaching relevance to the nation, state, or region ultimately impacts the grassroots interests and concerns of the community.
To complete the Assignment, select a recent (within the last 5 years) health care policy that has had substantial impact on consumers. In particular, look at a high-impact health care policy to analyze the diverse and divergent perspectives that informed its development and then assess its impact at the local organizational level.
Detailed and current information on health care policy may be found on many websites, including the following:
American Hospital Association (AHA)
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
The Kaiser Family Foundation
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF)
American Public Health Association (APHA)
American Association of Retired Persons (AARP)
After choosing a health care policy, select a local health care organization that is impacted by that policy. This might be a public agency, a health care facility, or any organization substantially influenced by the policy. It also might be the health care organization in which you work. As an administrator in this organization, you have been tasked with preparing an assessment of the impact of the policy on the organization’s operations and outcomes. This task requires you to take a large and complex topic (the policy) and synthesize it into digestible information that organizational stakeholders can strategically use to address issues raised by the policy.
For
Part 1
of this assessment, you will create a PowerPoint presentation that explains key points related to the health care policy you selected. This presentation is designed to inform and precede the dissemination of an in-depth policy assessment regarding the impact of the policy on the organization.
For
Part 2,
you will write an in-depth policy assessment that synthesizes the impact of the health care policy on the organization.
Part 1: PowerPoint Presentation: Key Points of a Health Care Policy
Succinct but accurate dissemination of information is often a key responsibility of a health care administrator, and understanding current changes in health care policy is an important need for many stakeholders within an organization.
For this Assignment, assume the role of a health care administrator and create a PowerPoint presentation to provide stakeholders within the organization foundational information about the policy you selected. In particular, focus on the formulation of the policy and the diverse perspectives of those who had a role in its development. As noted previously, this presentation is designed to inform the subsequent policy assessment you will distribute.

2023 Proposed HIPAA Amendments: What You Need to KnowConference Panel
In 2022, the Supreme Court issued a decision in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization case, prompting the federal Health and Human Services (HHS) to take action.
The proposed changes aim to protect the privacy of reproductive health care information and align with federal law, preempting contrary state laws in certain situations. Covered entities and business associates in the healthcare industry need to anticipate and prepare for these changes, ensuring they comply with the updated regulations when they become law in 2023.
This topic is crucial for healthcare professionals and organizations to understand how the evolving HIPAA regulations will affect the handling of reproductive health care information and overall privacy practices. Adhering to these changes will help avoid risks and liabilities associated with non-compliance and ensure the proper protection of sensitive health information.

IHP 610 Final Project Guidelines and Rubric
Overview
Healthcare is a field dominated by complex regulation, limited resources, highly charged debates, changing reimbursement, expensive education barriers to
entry, and knowledge imbalances. Healthcare decision-makers often have to review information about an issue, analyze the applicable law, and make a decision.
Those decisions are often not founded on clearly right or clearly wrong “answers.” Nonetheless, after decision makers conduct or review a policy analysis and a
legal analysis and arrive at a conclusion, they must be able to support and defend that decision. Stakeholder values are often in conflict; decision makers working
in the field of healthcare and health law have many opportunities to defend their decisions!
The final project for this course will give you an opportunity to build policy and legal analysis skills. You will choose from one of three issue prompts at the
beginning of the course. Throughout the course, you will draft a memo containing an overview and analysis of your selected issue, as well as a series of
recommendations for a healthcare executive. You will experience some of the challenges of reconciling competing values, demands for resources, and
organizational needs. Each issue prompt is based on “real world” scenarios, so take this opportunity to practice developing health law and policy analysis skills.
This final project addresses your mastery with regard to the following course outcomes:
Assess the impact of stakeholder needs on decision making for ensuring effective implementation of health law and policy
Assess the impact of current healthcare laws, policies, and financing practices on affected key stakeholders for informing policy recommendations
Determine the extent to which legal risks and potential malpractice issues influence policy decision making
Recommend appropriate strategies for resolving value conflicts among key healthcare stakeholders
Analyze the role of key stakeholders in shaping, implementing, and evaluating health law and policy for improving population health outcomes
Prompt
You will write a policy memorandum, with recommendations, paper in which you will analyze a health law and policy issue and make a series of
recommendations to a healthcare executive. At the beginning of this course, you chose one of three issue scenarios. Now, you will create each section of the

Now, you will create each section of the
policy memorandum using the tools and strategies you developed in this course. You have developed those tools and strategies in a stepwise fashion in each
module. Remember that the purpose of the policy memorandum is to analyze the issue scenario, make thoughtful arguments about the issue, and make
recommendations based on your analysis.
Your policy memorandum with recommendations paper must contain the following critical elements. Most of the critical elements align with a particular course
outcome (shown in brackets).

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

Assignment OverviewAs a health care administrator, one of the challenges can be ensuring
that federal, state, and local policies are effectively implemented within one’s health care
organization, and they become part of internal policy. The background readings have
highlighted three such policies.*The requirement of certain health care facilities who
participate in Medicare and Medicaid to strengthen their emergency preparedness*The
requirement to reduce hospital readmissions*The requirement that hospitals comply with
regulations surrounding the release of patients’ health care recordsCase AssignmentYou are
an assistant administrator in a nonprofit hospital that receives Medicare and Medicaid
funding. Your boss has asked you to make a presentation to other leadership about one of
the above policies. She would like for you to provide an overview of the policy, the
implications for your organization for non-compliance, as well as recommendations about
what you should be doing to ensure compliance. After reviewing the background readings
and doing additional necessary research, choose one of the regulations above. You must
locate and review the legislation in question as part of your research, and include the
correct citation to the federal legislation in your reference list. This must be for the actual
legislation and not for a secondary source. Create a PowerPoint presentation that covers all
of the expectations of your boss. Be sure to provide speaker’s notes that extrapolate on the
information within your slides and cite your sources in your slides and speaker’s notes. You
should also include a reference slide.
