I've been teaching in primary schools for over 10 years now and have used technology in my classrooms since the very beginning. I believe in a cross-curricular and social approach to learning. Children need to talk, to play, to fail and to have opportunities to refine their work.

- 4. Universal Design • This lesson would fit into the universal design by using many different types of learning to engage the students • Each child must eat and therefore, this can be inclusive to all children • This lesson helps visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners
- 5. Lesson Plan • I would begin the lesson by asking students what they had to eat for breakfast and dinner that morning and the night before. This would then begin a discussion about the types of food that we eat • Next the SMART Exchange lesson will be shown to explain the nutrition pyramid and myplate for children
- 6. Lesson Plan cont. • We can then travel to those sites to learn more and watch videos • A closing activity would let them design their own plate of the foods that they should be eating. By giving each child a plate to draw on, they could draw and color the foods that go in each group. • Through this activity, the students can understand what they should be eating at home.
