Assignment 3: VoIP Part 1 (Work Breakdown Structure) This assignment contains two (2) deliverables: a summary document to be delivered in a word processor document format and a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to be delivered in a project file. Overview As the project manager for an IT department, you have been assigned to manage the project of deploying a new VoIP phone system to the company’s campus. The campus consists of three (3) different buildings, each with twenty to fifty (20 to 50) workstations. The project must be completed in ninety (90) calendar days starting on November 1. Deliverable 1: Summary (MS Word or open source equivalent) 1. Write a one to two (1-2) page summary document in which you: a. Summarize the project requirements and other assumptions (e.g., budget, human resources, workload, environmental dependencies, etc.). b. Define a work breakdown structure and describe the methodology behind constructing one. Deliverable 2: WBS (MS Project or open source equivalent) 2. Use Microsoft Project to create a WBS which: a. Contains at least five (5) main tasks, one for each of the PMBOK® process areas. b. Contains at least sixty (60) line items distributed in ten (10) or more work packages. c. The company campus requires a new VoIP phone system. As the IT manager has the deployment of the project duties have been assigned. Workstations have been set up which are about 20-50 in numbers. They will be managed in three buildings and coordinated to achieve the set goal. The timeline for the project completion is 90 days which will begin in November 1st. This paper will look into project requirements summary and definition of work breakdown structure. The paper will also discuss approach used in construction of such a structure.
Summary of project requirements
Estimated Budget
The department has estimated and issued the project 30,000dolllars. This is expected to cater for the all the essential materials and processes. These will include equipment, requires software and installation costs (Chrysoulakis, Heldens, Gastellu, Grimmond, Feigenwinter, Lindberg, & Olofson, 2015). The required licensing acquisition for the entire operation is also accounted for in this budget. This is not static as if any extra services will be procured such as outsourcing services, a new budget will be put in place and presented to the company Chief Executive Officer for approval.
Human Resource
For the successful deployment of the project various stakeholders will work closely in implementing and monitoring each step. They will be expected to work with the provided budget and stipulated deadline to achieve the set goals. They will include Company CEO, IT Manager, Chief Officer in the finance department, Network Engineer and Chief Officer in the Information Department. The point to point approach will be most convenient for this project. This will allow flow consistent close monitoring of the project throughout the process. When necessary outsourcing from other companies will be applied. This will allow for the provision of best input at the lowest possible costs.
Workload
This will consist of all the necessary input for the putting up and running of the VoIP system. This will include duties in setting up, and running of the system. The maintenance of the system will also be part of the workload. This will ensure that the system is continuously reliable for the company. The concerned human resource will carry out their individual workload to allow facilitate the achievement of project goals.

Executive Summary
Juan Miguel Villar aka Tali Goya was born September 28th, 1990 in the Dominican Republic, his family later migrated to New York for a better life. Tali Goya is currently a Dominican native. Tali is a music artist who has focused his career in making Latin Trap. He is popular in Latin America and in certain communities. Anatomy of a Research Article
The most common type of peer-reviewed article is the research article, or paper describing a research
study. Authors of research articles follow a prescribed structure as they discuss their studies. As you begin
to gather articles for your literature review, you will begin to recognize a common anatomy, or structure,
across the articles. This common anatomy makes it easier for us to navigate and understand the articles we
read.
Research articles are typically organized into the following seven sections:
1) Title Page
2) Abstract
3) Introduction
4) Methods
5) Results
6) Discussion
7) References
Each of these sections has a unique purpose:
1) The Title Page serves as a cover sheet for the article. It typically includes the title of the paper, the
authors’ names, and the university or institution at which the research was conducted.
2) The Abstract is a brief summary of the entire research article. It helps us to get a sense of the
research question, methods, and findings.
3) The Introduction section provides a review of the relevant existing research related to the study’s
research question. It is the equivalent of a “literature review.” We will discuss the nature of literature
reviews more fully later in this lecture. In short, the introduction summarizes the history of research
related to the study’s question and explains why the current research study is important and
necessary.
4) The Methods section explains how the study was conducted. The authors describe the
participants, or “subjects,” how they were selected, and what the subjects were asked to do in the
study.
5) The Results section describes the findings of the study. The authors describe the data analysis
and outcome of that analysis.
6) The Discussion section explores the author’s interpretations of their findings and how those
findings fit in (or not) with existing research in the area of study. Here, the authors also discuss the
limitations of their own study as well as suggest future research that should be done to address the
research question.

preparation, design, and interpretation of their study. Readers often like to use the references
section to get leads on other studies related to the topic of interest.

We are socialized at every stage in life to conform to our gender identity. Societal reinforcement of tendencies of gender identity is relentless. For example, in hospitals, little girls are wrapped in pink and little boys in blue. This difference in colors influences how we learn and how we internalize our role in our society.
Girls tend to grow up to play feminine roles and boys tend to grow up to play masculine roles. This differentiation of gender identity has implications in social stratification. The videos given below will provide you with a better understanding of the differentiation of sexual identity from an earlier generation.

Based on your readings and understanding that you have gathered after watching the above-noted video, write a short biographical description of your life if you were to wake up tomorrow morning in the time period of the video you watched and find you have a different gender identity. Write a description of how you lived your life a day after your hypothetical change in gender as you answer the following questions
Discuss how you would react on finding out that your sex is opposite. Would you feel a sense of relief, indifference, or elation? Why?
Discuss three ways your attitude towards the opposite sex was enlightened or would change as a result of what you learned from this project. If you would not change your attitude, why?
Write down the ideas and attitudes you have taken for granted a member of your actual gender. Consider how your roles at home and in the office would change if you were a member of the opposite gender.
Relate the ideas of sexism and racism to the videos. How do you think sexism and racism have changed since the 1950s?

Name Institutional Affiliation VoIP (Work Breakdown Structure) The objective of the project for the IT department involves the organization and implementation of the VoIP phone system to the firm’s campus which contains three (3) individual buildings, each composed of between twenty to fifty (20 to 50) workstations. The date of commencement for the project is November 1 and needs to end within the next ninety (90) days Budget The IT Department has been presented with funds amounting to $75,000 to complete the project. Within the budget, expenses that include the purchase of equipment, wiring and substructure, installation of hardware and software and licensing required to run and maintain the VoIP system all over the three buildings. In any case that outsourcing is necessary to a local installation firm, an estimate approved by the president or the company’s CEO has to be made before the commencement of the project. Human Resources The company’s human resource comprises of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or the President, Chief Internal Officer (CIO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Network Engineer, IT Administrator, and the IT manager. The role of the human resource team is to decide on the most profitable and effective strategy for the implementation of the system throughout the three buildings and remaining within the budget. Given that the buildings are nearby, perhaps considering Point-to Point would be the best course of action for the small-sized company. Also, Point-to-Point may also be the most economical decision for a company of about twenty to fifty workstations for every building. Outsourcing from a local installation company can also be a wise decision, in which case the team makes estimations which need to be approved by the organization’s CEO before the commencement of any work.
- 4. Workload In this case, workload involves all the tools used to organize, run, and keep the VoIP system in good condition across the three buildings. It also means the activities that need to be carried so that the VoIP systems can become functional. Environmental Dependencies The system elements for the VoIP is composed of servers, phones, and networks. Constant management resources are also required to make sure there is continued success after the first placement. A high-quality voice sets stringent conditions on the VoIP network traffic, regarding lag, jitter, and the sum of lost packets. Defining Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) A WBS refers to the chief project deliverable that arranges the work of the team into wieldy segments. Graphically, it also describes the range into manageable segments that the project team can comprehend since each level of the WBS presents more definitions and details. According to Zecheru & Olaru (2016), controlling a compound project requires the team first to categorize it into separate components within a hierarchical structure. Methodology for Construction of a WBS The construction of a work breakdown structure will help in creating efficiency and effectiveness in the project. According to Norman, Brotherton, & Fried (2010), there are various responses required which include: (I) statement of the scope of the project, (II) management strategy for the scope of the project, and (III) organizational process assets. These responses should provide the relevant information that is required for developing a work breakdown structure to the team. Also, various tools should be used together with the above responses. They include the Work breakdown structure templates and decomposition in line with the PMBOK guide. Lastly, Norman, Brotherton, & Fried (2010) also states that using these responses and tools will produce outputs which include: (I) a WBS, (II) WBS Dictionary, (III) Scope baseline,
