• Frank Ocean - RnB as well as Rap. Quite upbeat tunes which differ from time
to slower songs. Image is popular towards ages 16-24, therefore is ideal for us as we
are in that age range and can relate. Style is more independent or niche image
• Ed Sheeran - Main Genre is acoustic and quite slow pace, however his joint
ventures with other artists is a combination of house and acoustic. Similar target
audience (16-24), therefore we know what that age group may like. Ed Sheeran is
quite mainstream but a very basic image.
• Justin Bieber - Very mainstream, recently making songs which are quite
upbeat and urban. A style which both Liam & I can relate to with regards to ideas. His
image is a very fashionable type, wearing niche high end clothing brands.

4. Lost
Frank Ocean
Adventure based video. Master shot will be of a world map,
showing animations of different cities where the artist has
travellled. The shots will zoom in on those cities and shots and
miss en scene of the artist, stereotypes in those cities e.g. Paris
eiffel tower and baguette. The creativity will be behind the mise-
en-scene, we wont actually be able to go to those cities but with
a good setting and mise -en scene we can try to recreate the
city.
This is appealing towards target audience as from our research,
viewers like a unique music video which isn’t just someone
showing off their talents. Some sort of creative storyline or way
of representing things.
Issue
Main issue will be the use of mise-en-scene
and trying to re create these cities. To get a clearer
understanding, here is where the inspiring idea
came from.

5. Adventure Of A
Lifetime
Coldplay
Videos master shot will be of Liam walking down the
street with his iPhone scrolling through his Facebook
photos. Similar to the _____ music video but put in a
context for this generation. Sliding through photos
which portray the lifestyle and beautiful scenes of life
Lam has lived through from a child.
Concept challenges the creativity, as well as the
effects used for the phone.
Suitable for the genre and song as the lyrics will be
heavily linked with the visual images.

6. Dark Times
Weeknd Ft Ed Sheeran
This Idea will be in black and white. Suits the mood and
feeling of the song as well as artist image. Narrative
representation of a married couple. The start will consist of
Liam walking down the streets, with blood all over himself
which starts the enigma. As he gets further down, things
happen on the street which give him flashbacks to the
happy life him and his wife had. Throughout the video
shows his frustration, the song dark times will lead the
viewers to believe he killed her but in reality he’s the one
who’s slowly walking dying coz he’s been just been
stabbed.
The constant drum beat will be parallel to effects and
images used to challenge creativity. The enigma and
storyline also challenges the creativity.
Suitable for the genre as its quite dark and the storyline is
a dark horror.

7. Sorry
Justin Bieber
Consist of Liam and his Dance partner dancing, performance
shots of liam singing. Storyline which shows Liam being a
pimp and girls abusing him for being a player. A lot of effects
will go into play, helps endorse the Justin Bieber style.
Level of creativity will be challenged by the effects used and
how it connotes feelings and helps the viewers understand
what is going on.
Appealing towards audience as from our feedback we found
out that a solo male artist is appealing due to a lot of natural
talent which stands them out from the rest of the singers.
Issue
Main issue is finding female actors as well
as a female dance partner for the
shots showing off the artists talents.

• James Bay – Acoustic and has very narrative/ performance based music videos. Slow
pace moving songs that relate to some audiences, ranged from 18-24 (females) those of which
have had more experience in life in terms of love and loss (not suited to younger audiences).
His USP would be hard to reinterpret seeing as he has long hair and hat, an image he always
uses for photo’s and music videos. He is independent and his performance style is true to his
music/lyrics.
• Ed Sheeran – Acoustic and slow paced- romantic and true to his relationships/ love life.
His image/USP is his ginger hair, something again hard to reinterpret, but it is quite basic and
me and Vincent should be able to create our own image/style. Although his music is mainly
slow paced, he combines with other artists like Rudimental and The Weekend, creating house-
acoustic music (generally faster paced music). Target audience of 16-24, which is youthful, and
audience that me and Vincent would have an idea of how to please/ make interested. Very
mainstream.
• Justin Bieber – Pop genre, mainstream artist with upbeat songs that audiences
of 18-24 would dance to/ listen to. He has a style the majority of teens that are male
would strive to follow including a good fashion sense and popularity. Me and Vincent
can create our own USP for Bieber’s songs fairly easily, as pop genres don’t tend to
have weird, niche images.

10. Dark Times

Performance/ Narrative based.
Story- breakup (she’s cheated) and getting rid of all
pictures etc of relationship. Emotional, and should
make the viewer relate to it in an affectionate way.
Based in house setting/ some street setting e.g.
walking down street past dark/ graphiti’d areas which
would be symbolic to the ‘Dark’ part of the song.
Performance- Me dancing with a dark background/
theme, with some silhouetting shots to add to
effect(dance studio space or in house), cutting to the
performance which would be choreographed to the
dynamics of the song and the feel/mood/tone it creates.
The dance part is what the character is feeling in his
head, and how sinister the relationship was leading to
the effect the breakup has on him.
Issues
There are not many issues with this
particular song as there is no original
music video so any idea we have wont
lead to copyright issues etc.

for dance.
