2. Project Specific Examples
Please read through the following slideshow as it lists all of the project specific examples that
the learning manager must maintain within the classroom to ensure that Safely, Legally and
Ethically principles are being covered.
Secure your workstation – don’t leave learners logged on to computers, don’t leave yours
logged on, no sharing of logins
ICT – read the safely, legally and ethically policy
Beware of cyber criminals, discuss hacking
How do we keep the reputation of everyone involved in this project protected? When taking
photos of plant growth, make sure that learners are not taking inappropriate photos - check the
camera roll, make sure that ipads are managed before anything is downloaded, delete any
inappropriate photos
Be aware of privacy – respect any of the families that do not want their children photographed
Vet any websites to be used and provide a list of safe websites

Plagiarism – learners need to be aware of
plagiarism rules, and acknowledging
sources
Complete risk assessment – make sure
learners know the rules
Ensure that filters are enabled through tech
support in the school
Discussion of safety aspects when open
searching, make sure that they are aware of
their digital footprint, site administrator can
access all search data
Brainstorm appropriate search terms,

4. Continued Student Protection
Refer to technology and reputation
management policy for the specific school
Make sure that you are able to delete
photos at any stage
Always know the rights of yourself and the
learners
Students have a right to work safely online,
to be free from cyber-bullying, for ideas and
input to be respected, to not be exposed to
unsuitable online material
Outline expectations at the beginning of the
lesson
Students are expected to respect the ideas
of others
