The final assignmentinthiscourse isa writtenProgramProposal.A programproposal isa document
demonstratinganintenttocreate a clinical,educational,orcommunityproject.The ProgramProposal
will define acontemporaryproblemorissue andpropose apotential solutionforacontemporaryissue
ina mannerthat will persuadeexpertsanddecisionmakerstosupportthe proposal.Withinthe
proposal,developmentaltheoryandresearchwillbe appliedtopolicy,communityagency,andmajor
themesof development.
A specificprogram,intendedtoprovide individual orgroupservicestoaddressanidentifiedareaof
need,will be introducedandoutlined.
Beginningthe Proposal Process
Choose anarea of interest.Studentswill choose ageneral trackanddefine aspecificissue withinthe
track that is of interesttothemandpresentsa contemporaryproblemtobe solved.Pleasesee the
Program Proposal Tracksand TopicsinDevelopmental Psychologydocumenttoview the tracks
(Community,Clinical/Counseling,andEducation) andsuggestedissueswithineachtrackfor the
proposal.Once the track and issue have beenchosen,specificcriteriawill needtobe identified.
Identifythe targetpopulation.Regardlessof the trackand issue chosen,atarget populationmustbe
