relief and recovery programs.
As a member of the Senior Management Team, provide leadership and strategic direction to all programmatic
aspects of Save the Children humanitarian and emergency response, early recovery in Somalia. Focus on
advocacy, representation, policy, proposal and budget development, categorization of emergencies and to
lead the initial start-up (3-6 months) of a response and handover to operations when appropriate. Collaborate
with the Deputy Country Director in the regions to ensure that resources are allocated to ensure a timely and
efficient response that is integrated with pre-existing programming in that region.
Ensure immediate and appropriate response to children's needs during humanitarian crises as well as cross
sector collaboration among technical units, Ensure funding proposals are produced and donor reporting
requirements are adhered to, and are of the highest standard and that Save the Children's commitment to
improving quality and accountability in humanitarian work is upheld, and complies with all relevant policies
and procedures with respect to child protection, health and safety. Represent Save the Children at high level
donor meetings and where emergency and refugee programing is concerned, ensuring an appropriate role on
the accountability and activity matrix for each humanitarian program.

As a key member of the Extended Senior Management Team, provide strategic management and operational
leadership to all multi-donor Development and Emergency relief grants of Save the Children country Program.
Provided overall guidance and management support to Area program managers to ensure quality Programs
implementation. Ensured that Programs are implemented according to agreed plans, timelines, and strategies
through development of project planning matrices, regular field visits, planning and debriefing with Area
Program Managers (APMs). Ensured effective and efficient use of resources and improved internal controls by
placing sound financial protocols (phased budgets, Budget VS Actual,) logistics and admin management
procedures. improve Save the Children institutional credibility among Partners, donors, UN, government and
other stack holders, ensured that project activities are coordinated with UN, government and other INGOs and
regular meetings are held with government authorities, Donors and UN working groups. Supervised the
compliance of operational activities with Save the Children national and global policies and procedures and

program in AJK. Developed trainings modules and manuals and conducted training for community as well as
for staff members. Formed Disaster Management Committees (DMCs) and Local Emergency Response Teams
(LERTs) at the village level. Conducted Hazard Vulnerability Risk and Capacity Assessment (HVCRA) in the
program area by integrating community based knowledge with scientific knowledge. Developed village
disaster preparedness plans (VDPPs) at village and Union Council level. Developed and implemented school
safety program. Conducted Safety assessment and evacuation planning of public buildings in program area.
Senior Repatriation Clerk Sep 2006– Mar 2007

As senior repatriation clerk, led teams to implement voluntary repatriation/relocation exercise at field level
including camp closure in FATA/settled areas, team formation, staffing and training of repatriation unit.

As field assistant managed UNHCR camps for earth quake affected families at Mansehra. Ensured coordination
and liaison between government, aid organizations and people of concerns to UNHCR at field level for
provision of food shelter, non-food items, and protection and community services, health services as basic
human rights. Ensured that protection of affected families under UNHCR mandate is followed. Conducted
situation analysis survey in the earthquake effected area and ensured identification of EVIs in the established
camps
