I bring with myself significant progressively responsible experience of working for over 16 years
in complex, volatile, challenging and demanding international humanitarian and developmental
contexts. I worked in leadership and management roles for undertaking programmatic
initiatives in a timely, efficient and effective manner. Throughout my career I have applied my
acquired leadership attributes in terms of field implementation, program operations and
system strengthening systems to achieve tangible results.
I have handled an annual program portfolio in a range of USD 03M – 80M as a budget holder
from 2007 till date with meeting donor compliance requirement while responding to
community needs in challenging operational circumstances. I have over time gained hands on
experience of working with almost prominent UN agencies and Donor institutions e.g. UNHCR,
UNICEF, WHO, IOM, OCHA, FAO, WFP, BPRM, DANIDA, DFATD, DEC, USAID, EU, DFID, DFAT,
OFDA, SIDA, CIDA, ECHO, MOFA (Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish), AUS Aid, Global Fund,
Malinda Gates Foundation, Private Donors and SCI Alliance Members etc.
Similarly, I have successfully implemented programs in all thematic areas including Health,
Nutrition; Formal/Non Formal Education included EiE, DRR and Climate Change Adaptation,
Child Rights Governance, Child Protection, Food Security & Livelihoods, Food Aid, WASH and
Shelter/NFI.
Familiarity with Donor priorities in terms of compliance and programmatic expectation provides
me added advantage in terms of proactively tracking program delivery/monitoring systems. I
have demonstrated ability in multiple contexts to implement/lead programs in compliance with
prominent international humanitarian principles and aspiration of donors.
With Ability to work in challenging environment in remote field bases with limited
infrastructure; I have successfully established systems to manage projects in best possible
manner. These systems were based on informed decision making contributing to continued
programmatic improvements.
I have also worked for multiple emergency response programs in leadership and management
roles including Afghan Refugee Crisis (2001), South East Asia Earthquake Response (2005),
conflict IDPs Response Pakistan (2009), Flood response & recovery programs Pakistan(2010-11,
2012-13), Khulna Flood Response Bangladesh (2012); Khyber IDPs Response 2012-13 and South
Sudan Emergency Response (2014-15), Nepal earthquake emergency response (2015). I am
currently working as Director Humanitarian in Save the Children Somalia Program and
Managing CAT 2 Emergency Response.
I am member of the Save the Children Global Emergency Roster as Deputy Team Leader
Emergency Response; Operations.
I have contributed in capacity building of staff and Partners at Pakistan, Bangladesh, South
Sudan, Nepal and Somalia to enhance their professional skills and capacities and Emergency
preparedness.
I remained a member of Senior Management Team (SMT) and Extended Senior Management
Team (ESMT) of Save the Children, Pakistan, South Sudan, Nepal and Somalia Country Offices.
