Media studies Evaluation

                   Bhabishya Paudel
In what ways does your media product use,
develop or challenge form and conventions
of real media products?
 I think my product looks similar to other media product within the
same institution, as part of my planning and research I think my
magazine also challenges the other media products, I also had the
masthead and the layout similar to other media product, but still
have my own way which also challenges the real media products.

 I used the fact that they have masthead in the top left hand in every
music magazine according to my research and planning. I also
have used the selling line, I found one of the music magazine did.
Which therefore, challenges and also has the convention of the real
     media products.
How does your media products
represent particular social groups?
 My product is specially aimed for Pop genre type of music listeners,
it does that by use of making it simple and not having too music of
    colours or any design.

 The model itself shows the particular age I am targeting at. And
because I have a young model therefore, I targeted my audience to
be young. The gender group is I think for both male and female
according to planning, however, I think most of my gender will be
female, by the model in my front page because it appeals more to
    the female gender.

 I don’t think I have any particular ethnicity groups targeted, it for any
Pop music lovers, it also has the element of other types of stories
and gossips so that some people buy it for pass time.
What kind of media institution might
distribute your media product and why?
 My product aims at music industry in media institutions

 My magazine should be distributed in music shops or
also in local supermarkets with other music magazines,
so that my magazine challenges the other media
    products.

 It can also be distributed online so that people can buy it
online and because my target audience is young, they
tend to surf through internet more, so its easier for them
to look up online for my magazine.
Who would be the audience for your
media product?
 My audience for my media product would be from
15- 19 years old, this was according to my
    questionnaire result and the graphs.

 I also used easier language and model younger
that that my target audience would be interested.
How did you attract / address your
audience?

 I tired to make more appealing to my audience by using different
    techniques;
 I used simpler language and words for my audience to understand.
I also used younger model for my audience.
 I named my masthead something easy to remember for my
audience, I also tired to make the story interesting and according to
my planning I found out that young people prefer gossips, therefore
in conclusion I ought it would be more appealing to my audience.
What have your learnt about technologies
from process of constructing this product?
 I learnt that all media product within the same institution
have some similarities in their products but they make it
different in a way that people would know which
     magazine it is.

 I also learned how to use Photoshop and within
Photoshop I learned how to crop, copy paste, writing
and other tools which made my magazine even more
appealing and challenging to other media products. and
use the lighting and camera so that it looks professional
     and standard.
Looking back at your preliminary task,
what do you feel you have learnt in the
progression from it to the full product?
 Looking back from my preliminary task I think I have learned quiet a lot, I
learned how to layout the text and image properly and what looks the best
    as a layout.
 I also learned that having a big and different fonts on magazine does not
always look attractive and appealing to audiences. The story has to be
    good to draw the attention.
 I learned a lot from Photoshop too while constructing my magazine, I
learned how to crop, paste, erase and many other tools.
 And one of the most important, I learned, with the layout there has to be
right colour scheme and the picture to go with a magazine, rather then just
    have any random picture taken.
