2. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge
forms and conventions of real media products?
A different convention between my magazine and a real magazine would be
that in the real magazine the title (logo) is in the top left hand corner and on my
it is in the middle and a bit behind the main image. A similarity would be the
fact the both the main images (on mine and the real magazine) take up most of
the page. On my magazine there is brief information about what is inside the
magazine. But on the real one it doesn’t really say anything, but it does have a
free gift which I don’t have

3. How does your media product
represent particular social groups?
There is a range of representations of particular social groups
because my magazine has an age range of 15-25+. I think my
magazine represents people who are cheerful and happy
because of the bright colours I have used. Also it would appeal
to people who like RnB and pop music, because the information
doesn’t switch to different genre half way through the
magazine.

4. What kind of media institution might distribute your
media product and why?
I would use IPC Media as the institution to distribute
my magazine. It has more than 60 iconic media brands
and is one of the UK’s leading consumer magazine
publishers. Therefore it is trustworthy. The best reason
to use this institution would be that it is worldwide and
that mean my magazine, with the right promotion,
would be sold all over the world.

5. Who would be the audience for your
media product?
The audience for my magazine
would be people age range from
about 15-25, but that isn’t the
limit, people who are younger or
maybe even older could be the
audience for my magazine.
Something that would narrow
down the audience would be
whether they liked RnB and pop
music because they are the genres
that my magazine focus on.

6. How did you attract/address your
audience?
I used specific element on my front cover,
contents page and double page spread to attract
an audience. I used thing like bright colour which
would catch people attention and draw them in.
Also I used mainly medium shots in my images
with the people in them looking into the camera,
so it is like they are looking at the audience. On
my double page spread I made sure I
used/asked questions that related to music and
not just random thing that would be irrelevant in
a music magazine.

7. What have you learnt about technologies from
the process of constructing this product?
I learnt a lot about different technologies while making
my magazine, such as Photoshop and Publisher. In
Photoshop I learnt how to get rid of the background of
image and being left with only the person (or whatever
you want) left on its own in the image. Also in Photoshop
I learnt how to use the brightness and saturation to my
advantage, because h image that I took were quite dark
this helped to make them brighter and not look so dull.

8. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do
you feel you have learnt in the progression from
it to the full product?
Looking back I have learnt a lot from when I did the preliminary
task. For example for the college magazine I didn’t use
Photoshop at all but while doing my music magazine I used it
quite a lot. Also I feel as though I didn’t plan the college
magazine a much as i did the music. I must say I think I put a lot
more hard work into the making and the research of the music
magazine.
