The document describes the student's music magazine project. It discusses how the magazine follows conventions of real music magazines in its layout and design, including the front cover, contents page, and double page spreads. The target audience is identified as teenagers who like alternative/alternative rock music. Photos were chosen to represent this group and were intended to look casual, carefree, and youthful. Colors and cover lines were used to attract this audience. Overall, the student learned skills in blogging, photography, and Photoshop to design and construct the magazine.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
How to Make a Field invisible in Odoo 17Celine George
It is possible to hide or invisible some fields in odoo. Commonly using “invisible” attribute in the field definition to invisible the fields. This slide will show how to make a field invisible in odoo 17.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

AS Media Evaluation
1.
2. QUESTION 1
IN WHAT WAYS DOES YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT
USE, DEVELOP OR CHALLENGE FORMS AND
CONVENTIONS OF REAL MEDIA PRODUCTS?
3. My media products follow most conventions of a
professionally made music magazine. For example on the
front cover I have the barcode in a corner at the bottom, with a
banner at the bottom and cover lines throughout the page.
The picture I have used is also a mid-shot and leaves enough
space at the side for cover lines without overlapping the main
picture too much. The only thing I have done differently to a
normal alternative rock magazine is put the title in the centre
and not in the top left, I have done this because I think putting
it in the middle makes it look more attractive and bolder.
(more eye-catching) I have also used four different colours as
my theme on my front cover just like this alternative rock
magazine and other music magazines would use.
It is obvious who the person on
the front cover is.
Cover Lines.
Cover Lines.
4. Here is a professionally
made Q magazine
contents page and on
the right is my music
magazine contents
page. As you can see
they both have a main
image on the right hand
side of the page with
smaller images also on
the page. They both also
have a page guide on
the left hand side with
the title and name of the
magazine at the top of
the page.
5. Here is my double page spread
about my cover star Amethyst. I
have created an interview
based on my stars new found
success in the music industry.
There are page numbers in the
bottom corners and a big title
at the top of the right page with
a brief explanation about the
interview underneath it. It also
has smaller images and a big
arrow at the bottom right
implying that this is continued
on the next page. I personally
think this double page spread
does conform to the
conventions of a common
alternative rock magazine.
6. In comparison to other music magazines like the one on the left, it does look like its aimed at a younger audience which is what I
wanted because my target audience are teenagers who like alternative music. Most magazines aimed at teenagers have a lot going
on so I think it is okay to look a bit busier then what you would usually find in an alternative rock magazine.
8. My magazine is mainly
aimed at teenagers who
like
alternative/alternative
rock music. I found that
magazines like Q and NME
were helpful when
creating my magazine
and from looking at them I
worked out how to
represent the alternative
rock genre and how to go
about creating my
magazine.
9. In a stereotypical alternative rock magazine there would
usually be a male performer on the front cover however I have
not followed this convention and have chosen to put a female on
the front cover because some magazines do use women on their
front covers, it is just more common to find a male on the front. I
have done this because I think it will appeal to a teenage
audience and that they will see my cover star on the front and
want to know more about her, I think her style and poses
throughout my magazine represents my target audience as
casual and carefree. It escapes the idea that teenagers listen to
music in order to get rid of their problems and can portray that
people listen to this genre because it makes them happy. the
photos I have used are interesting, artsy and colourful which
can be seen as quite fun and youthful. My pictures represent
specific traits that teenagers have which is why I have used
them.
Relatively serious
but the slight smirk
might represent a
good mood or just
general happiness.
Playful and can represent
the feelings towards the
image of Amy Winehouse
which include respect,
admiration and the feeling
that my cover star thinks
the artist is ‘cool’ which
can influence others.
10. This picture can be interpreted as the more rebellious and
cheeky side of teenagers. The graffiti writing which says ‘If
you’re bored you’re boring’ is an important part of it and the
fact that my artist is crouching in front of it shows that she
thinks this is ‘cool’ and agrees with the statement. My
audience might agree with her and become interested in
her as an artist because they can relate to it.
KO-KO is a well known concert venue in
Camden so I have decided to include it in my
music magazine because British teenagers
might know of it and wish to be informed on
who’s performing.
13. TARGET AUDIENCE
My target audience is teenagers and young adults, so roughly around the ages 13-18.
This is my target audience because adults prefer to read more technical music
magazines that involve the creation of music and the equipment used to create it
whereas younger people wish to know more about the bands and artists that they
listen to and want to know more personal information on them. This is why I have
based my magazine around my target audience to create something teenagers and
young adults can relate to and then hopefully if they can relate to it then that will lead
them into buying my magazine.
15. MASTHEAD
I personally believe that this masthead and name of the magazine will attract my audience because I think it stands
out and is different from other magazines and maybe isn’t a word people have heard before. I had help picking a
masthead from my friends who are in the age category I am aiming to attract. You can find out why they told me to
pick this masthead on my blog.
16. COLOURS After receiving feedback from my questionnaire which was answered by 100
people the majority vote picked the colour theme green, red, white and black.
Therefore I decided to use them for my magazine in order to attract the
audience who answered my questionnaire who ranged between the ages of
13-18. However I didn’t actually use much green and only really had green on
the front cover in the background. I played around with adding green during
the creation of my magazine however I was unable to make it work and
therefore only included it on my front cover.
18. COVER LINES
I think my cover lines will attract my audience because
they include a lot of very famous and well known bands
that my target audience will know of and be interested in.
Putting them on the front cover will possibly make them
want to buy my magazine because they want to know
exclusive information on these musicians. Using words
like ‘reveal’ and ‘exclusive’ will also attract my target
audience because it implies there is information in this
magazine that is not common knowledge and they might
want to know more.
19. QUESTION 6
WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT
TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF
CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?
20. BLOGGER
Blogger enabled me to make posts about my progress and research. I also think it
was very effective in the way in which I was able to present my work by adding
images and links to presentations. Also if I make mistakes I can always edit and
delete my posts if I need to which is always helpful in case I make a mistake. I have
learnt a lot about blogger since I started to create my magazine and I am now able to
use it quite efficiently to complete my work.
21. PHOTOS
When thinking about what type of images I wanted to use for my magazine and thinking about
what kind of shots to use for my magazine front cover etc. I took a wide variety of photos and
did lots of planning such as a shooting schedule, flat plans and rough sketches. I wanted to
take the correct type of pictures to attract my audience and appeal to their tastes.

22. PHOTOSHOP
I have learnt a lot about how to use photoshop from this task. I have never really used it before but
during this task I discovered a lot about photoshop and how to edit things how I wanted them to look. I
learnt how to add text and place images on top of one another using layers. I also learnt how to edit
something I didn’t want to be in the picture out of the picture by using an air brush tool to get rid of it. I
also learnt how to crop and image and add filters to images such as black and white, contrast,
brightness etc. Overall photoshop has been a big part of making my final products and I wouldn’t have
been able to complete my project without it. I monitored some small parts of the editing process on my
blog.

23. QUESTION 7:
LOOKING BACK AT YOUR PRELIMINARY
TASK, WHAT DO YOU FEEL YOU HAVE LEARNT
IN THE PROGRESSION FROM IT TO THE FULL
PRODUCT?
24. Preliminary task Final outcome
Looking back at my preliminary task you can
clearly see an improvement. My final outcome
is far more professional looking and eye-
catching then the school magazine that I
created.
I think the outcome of my preliminary task
wasn’t very good due to the layout of the cover
lines and the bland title, whereas my final
outcome for my music magazine looks far
better because it follows the conventions of a
typical music magazine. This means it looks
more professional and my target audience will
be more likely to buy it.
25. Preliminary task Final outcomeComparing the contents page of my
preliminary task to my final outcome also
shows a big improvement in my opinion.
The contents page I created for my
preliminary task is far too busy and uses too
many images. The writing is also hard to see
and the images are spaced out in a weird
layout. However on my final outcome you can
see all of the writing clearly and all of the
writing has it’s own section. The images are
also laid out neatly and have the page
numbers next to them so that readers know
where to find the page with more info on the
images. This is good because readers are
able to navigate efficiently. Overall my final
outcome looks far more professional then
my preliminary task.
26. Overall I think the music magazine I have created fits the brief and is a successful
magazine that will get the attention of my target audience. The research I have done
has definitely helped me create my magazine and has made me more aware of the
techniques used to get peoples attention and make them want to buy a product. I think
the best page of my magazine is my front cover because of the cool layout and
tempting cover lines!
