Acid rain is formed when acid particles from atmospheric pollution get mixed with rain water and fall as acid rain. The carbon dioxide in the air mixes with water vapor to form carbonic acid in the atmosphere. When this water vapor and acid that are mixed in the atmosphere fall as rain, it shows on earth as acid rain. Acid rain damages monuments, buildings and statues, makes soil acidic, causes irritation to human eyes, and affects plants, fishes, and animals by corroding surfaces.
