So you have just shot to stardom at the age of 17, what is the first thing you’re going to buy?

Of course as any ‘Jack the Lad’ would fast cars and a house but just to put my own spin on things I
would fill the swimming pool with jelly. I have always wanted a Porsche Cayenne so that’s first on
the shopping list but then the house that I can live in with my family since they have helped me all
the way (I’d get the bigger bedroom of course)

So what was the inspiration for your debut album ‘BACKLASH’?

Well there have been a few love interests when I was younger but most of the songs are just about
every day thoughts that go on through the day, like a little bit of inspiration from Bruno Mars and
the Lazy Song.

On that note your first single, it’s about one of your trips to the Zoo?

Yeah it’s a little bit confusing isn’t it but I had a really good experience with a girl at the zoo. I
couldn’t explain the day in a normal way so I put us in the place of the animals and it went from
there, I really don’t get how it got caught on.

Well it did and fast, you seem to have a young cult following like the Beiber of rock?

Please do not compare me to Justin Beiber it hurts inside, but yes I have the best fans in the world. I
agree he has an amazing following that are dedicated just like mine are but I think that I give back
more than he does and hopefully the majority of people don’t hate me like they do him. One gig I
did at the Bristol O2 Academy and a girls came up to me with a painting she drew of me and her, it
was incredibly detailed so I had to take it. At the moment it’s in the back of my car but it soon will be
up in my new house.

So you’re about to start your own headline tour aren’t you?

Yeah it starts on the 5th of June and goes on most nights until 23rd of July in London for the finale. I
hit all the major cities, most gigs are at O2 Academies and some at bigger venues like the
Manchester Apollo. It’s going to be amazing I have some amazing people as my warm up acts. I am
going to follow in the footsteps of people I have toured with previously like Rizzle Kicks they have
been such an influence. I know were different types of music it’s the way they act i admire.

Well what was you doing before you broke out in music?

of course I was at school doing everything that normal people do at my age, going out to the park
playing football, Call of Duty on my Xbox and of course whenever I could practising my guitar. I tried
starting a band a few times with some friends with school but none of them had the dedication that i
had so i ploughed on my own. I started to try and get gigs at small places around Manchester and
when I caught on Rizzle Kicks asked me to tour with them and I knew from there I was on my way.
However when I was younger I did get bullied, there was the incident where I wet the bed till I was
12. So from then on i just ignored everyone.
Well where do you think you will be in 5 years time?

Hopefully as big as people like Ed Sheeran or Example, because they haven’t been around for years
but they are serial number one veterans. I have been influenced by them, I went to a gig that Ed was
the warm up act for Example and it was truly amazing and now I’ve met them like normal people
now like I have been accepted by them like a friend it’s strange.
