Arthur Miller was an American playwright born in New York City in 1915. He worked his way through the University of Michigan, where he became a writer and received the Avery Hopwood award. Some of his most famous plays include All My Sons, The Crucible, and Death of a Salesman, which won all three major awards and tells the story of salesman Willie Loman and his family. He was married to Marilyn Monroe from 1956-1961 and died in 2005 at the age of 89.
