Why?
• The symmetrical color choice, geometric layout
  and pastel color usageevident inmy artist
  research reminded me of art deco designs.
• Also in our initial ideas, pastel colors were
  brought up, which is a common color in art deco
  designs
• In our audience research, “colorful” was common
  feedback as a visual idea of what was expected.
A brief history..
• Art deco first appeared in France in the 1920s
  and faded out near the World War II era.
• Being eclectic, it combined a variety of ideas.
  With society beginning to be more
  structued, art deco, at the time, took its ideas
  from machine age imagery.
What?
• Art deco is defined by bright colors,
  symmetrical geometric positioning and its
  simple composition.
• We could take inspiration from art deco to
  meet consumer needs (supplied by audience
  research), our judgment (initial ideas) and
  similar designs being used by artists that I
  have researched.
