This document outlines the schedule and requirements for a controlled assignment worth 40% of the course. It details 12 weeks of content and deadlines, including developing ideas based on stimuli, researching artists, conducting photo shoots to create work, and refining ideas. The final weeks are dedicated to completing the body of work and preparing for the exam, which involves presenting the final piece along with an artist statement.

Week Dates Content
1 4th Feb Get to know exam paper, develop ideas for 2-3 stimuli in sketchbook via
brainstorms of thought process. Remember personal concepts that relates to
you and the stimuli.
Begin to find research artists that share similar concepts you your final idea. I
will keep putting blog posts on new artists and tag them with the stimulus
title. You can use the search bar.
Begin to collect images for mood boards and visual influence. Collect
information and ideas in sketchbooks rather than in your head. Evidence!
2 11th Feb Induction task 1 – Mastering the use of multiple flash units –
Induction task 2 - Directing a Photograph, reenacting a still from a film text.
3 18th Feb Reflection on induction tasks, explaining the process thus demonstrating
understanding and awareness. Cleary and correctly identifying strengths and
weaknesses.
The search for inspirational artists continues both conceptually and
technically/visually.
Students should consider and research inventive methods to present their
work for a final piece. Be as ambitious as possible.
4 25th Feb Research artist one and two should now be chosen. The artists chosen clearly
links and informs student’s concept idea, which clearly links to the chosen
exam stimulus.
Research write up has a strict deadline and should be completed by week 6.
The process of ART3 should be followed. The grades for research were
great, but you do not have the same amount of time.
5 4th March Research write up continues. Final Piece shooting should begin in week 5.
This could include practice shots or photo shoot one.
6 11th March Photo-shoot reflections/Developing ideas, perfecting technical practice for
final piece. The same process of reflection should be followed. Photoshoot 1
contains a shoot plan, clearly identifies strengths and weakness of the best
images and sets future targets for shoot 2 etc., until final piece is completed.
7 18th March Photo-shoot reflections/Developing ideas, perfecting practice for final piece
8 25th March EASTER Shooting continues, Exam planning, Extend and challenge.
Research corrections are made post assessment.
9 1st April EASTER Shooting continues, Exam planning, Extend and challenge
Research corrections are made post assessment.
10 8th April Body of work should be completed at the end of week 10.
11 15th April Week 11 should be dedicated to exam preparation. A Physical or digital final
piece should be created with immaculate presentation and printing.
12 22nd April EXAMS – Presentation work-Artist statement-Final Piece
