Jules Verne wrote the classic adventure novel Around the World in Eighty Days, first published in 1873. The story follows Phileas Fogg, an English gentleman who accepts a bet that he can circumnavigate the globe in 80 days. Accompanied by his valet Passepartout, Fogg travels by steamship, train, and elephant across multiple countries, including England, Egypt, India, Hong Kong, the United States, and back to England within the time limit, despite various obstacles and being chased by a detective who suspects him of a bank robbery. Through this journey, Fogg finds love with a young Indian widow named Aouda who he rescues.
