Every year in India, an average of 1980 Cr of rupees is wasted due to weeds. Our country faces the total loss of 33% of its economy from Weeds. The Losses are due to some of the following reasons, total loss of 26% from Crop Diseases, total loss of 20% from Insects and Worms, total loss of 6% from Rats.
Weeding control is done by mechanical weeding, thermal weeding: flaming, biological control, chemical control, and by the farming pattern. It has always been a problem to successfully and completely remove weeds and other innocuous plants. In this project, mechanical weeder is designed and erected to remove the weed completely
#SCOPE OF THE PROJECT#
Engine is to be set for effective weeding operation.
Profile of the weed remover blades should be Optimized. wheel with buttons should be used for easy movement of the machine over the mud.
The weight of the weeder can be reduced by using lightweight materials and by reducing the size of wheel.
Since the weeder was designed for low cost, the weeder was made manual but it can be made automatic by placing a motor.
By using some advanced attaching mechanisms, the time required for assembling can be reduced for additional attachments.4. Fixing the extra attachment of leveler.

It requires a skilled person to operate as there are weeds and unwanted crops on the field which may consume the nutritious elements which are intended for the crop that is to be grown. The main objective of the project is to develop weed removing vehicle to clean and uproot the unwanted grass and weeds, which is powered by a single cylinder 2-stroke petrol engine (100cc) which is manually operated. So, here we have designed and fabricated a vehicle which would uproot the weeds and unwanted crops from the field completely. The weed removing vehicle is capable of uprooting the weeds and unwanted crops from small plantations (tobacco, chilly, groundnut etc,) which if not removed would deteriorate the quality as well as the quantity of the main crop. The vehicles and machines which are presently available are very costly and unaffordable. Also, the vehicles and machines that are used cause damage to the main crop since their turning radius are more. This weed removing vehicle has a set of four wheels, two front wheels with drum brakes and two rear wheels attached to a dead axle where the front wheels are powered with a single cylinder 2-stroke 100cc petrol engine with the help of constant mesh gearbox and chain drive. The blade used to uproot the weeds is adjustable. The turning radius of this vehicle is also very small as compared to the machines available in the market. Also, this vehicle can be easily operated by the unskilled person without any difficulty. The speed of the vehicle can also be controlled easily since it has a constant mesh gearbox and a supporting pair of the chain drive. This vehicle will be very useful for the farmers who cannot afford the high price of currently available vehicles. Also, the maintenance cost is low for this vehicle.

ABSTRACT : In India, groundnut is grown on a small scale by farmer. The major problem in groundnut production in our country like India is the lack of groundnut processing machines available to farmers. The main aim of this project is to design and fabricates a low cost groundnut decorticator machine which will help small farmer to decorticate finished groundnut instead of unfinisheds groundnut. This groundnut decorticator machine works on quick return mechanism main working of this project. In which we made a pendulum with rubber pad is fitted on a shaft. The rubber pad is used for free crushing of groundnut and to reduce the damage of groundnut. If we go on continuous work we got greater output in very short time. The study reveal that pedal operated groundnut decorticator gave an output of 49 kg/hour which was more than hand operated decorticator. This machine requires less effort to decorticate groundnut with higher output. The performance of machine was evaluated in terms of throughput capacity, decorticating efficiency and damage percentage. By keeping this point in our mind we think that we should make such machine whose production capacity is more and machine get pedal operated. The small scale farmers and can start their business by investing less capital.

Jato is a traditional type of rotary hand mill or grinder within the Himalayan region of Nepal, Sikkim,Darjeeling and Bhutan used to grind grains. It consists of two round stones disc of which upper part is movable and lower disc are immovable and includes a huge nail or wood (mani) within the center
The top half has two holes in it, one within the middle to insert grains or for feeding purpose and the other on the side to place a wooden handle (hato) for grinding. The grains are grind using a circular motion with the help of the handle and the person has to be sit right down to do the task.

In today's world, one uses many different spraying technologies using energies like electrical energies, solar energies, and chemical energy of fuels. This fact makes one know that how a large amount of energy is getting used at such a place where mechanical energy can be used instead of direct energy sources farmers are facing enormous problems while spraying the pesticide like tank capacity is very small, high cost and spraying time taken more. In order to reduce the problems, different type of sprayers has been introduced in the market, but these devices do not meet the specified problems of farmers. To solve these difficulties new equipment that is mechanically operated wheel driven sprayer, it is a portable device and does not need any fuel to operate, which is easy to move and spray the pesticide by moving the wheel is to be developed. This wheel-operated pesticide spray equipment consumes less time and achieves uniform nozzle pressure; a crank mechanism with a piston pump which is driven by a wheel is also used. The main aim of the paper is to be developing a low-cost mechanically operated sprayer pump for Indian middle-class farmers. In our project we use a slider-crank mechanism to convert rotary motion into reciprocating motion to operate the pump, thus the pesticide is spread through the nozzle. This work gives a continuous flow of pesticide at required pressure and height. A special arrangement is implemented in this project to adjust the pressure as high or low.
We also use a weed cuter in our model for removing unwanted plants. By using an agricultural sprayer, spraying time, and weeding time, human efforts reduce and results in cost reduction.

A rice transplanter is a specialized machine fitted with a transplanter mechanism (usually having some form of reciprocating motion) driven by the power from the live axle, in order to the transplant rice seedlings onto paddy field. Rice is a major food grain crop of world. Unlike upland row crops, cultivation of low land rice crop is a labour intensive process. In spite of the common belief of availability of surplus agricultural labour in India, there actually exists a scarcity of skilled agricultural workers during the peak transplanting seasons. If this operation is not done in time the yield goes down. In view of this, there is an urgent need to mechanize this operation. The rice translation process is generally manual which involves number of labour. The process of manual rice transplantation is not so efficient as compared to the mechanical rice transplantation. Machine transplanting using rice transplanter requires considerably less time and labour than manual transplanting. It increases the approximate area that a person can plant. Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.

harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied

Arecanut Tree Climber
1. Abstract<br />The people in rural areas of Karnataka and Kerala mainly depend on agriculture for their livelihood. The main crops grown are Arecanut and coconut. <br />For harvesting the nuts, and for spraying and applying insecticides on the crown, skilled labourers have to climb manually up the tree. Such a process looks easy, in reality it is a laborious and dangerous task. It requires skill to climb a arecanut tree. Skilled arecanut tree climbers have become scarce and farmers are finding it difficult to harvest the nuts.<br />There are many equipments/ machines in the market to help the farmers in this regard. But they are not successful as the input for them is muscular power of the labour and it requires a person to physically climb the tree. There is no 100% safe arecanut harvesting device currently in the market. There is a need to invent a machine to address both efficiency and safety. The design of the device has to be simple enough for villagers to operate, yet work efficiently to appeal to the majority. <br />Here we are designing and fabricating motorized arecanut tree climber. The tree climber has a base on which the drive system is mounted. The power from the motor to the rollers is transmitted by using sprocket and chain drive. To obtain the required speed of the rollers a reduction gear box is used in between the motor and the rollers. The machine is placed around the tree and clamped to it using a swivel opening on one side of the base. Due to the weight of the motor, gear box and some extra mass concentrated on one end of the base the machine locks itself to the tree. Now the motor is switched ON to drive the rollers. When the rollers rotate gripping the tree, the whole setup is lifted along the length of the tree. After reaching the required height the motor is switched OFF. By having suitable auxiliary equipments for spraying pesticides, plucking the nuts on the setup and suitable controlling methods for those equipments the required job can be performed.
