Are You Working "In" It or "On" It? In This Issue (click)
- Are You Working "In" It or
It's true in corporations. It's true in churches. If the organization is "On" It?
to advance, remain healthy, and be highly successful through its - Basic Coach Training
life-cycle, it is required that the leader work "on" the

business/mission of the organization. The leader must be acting in
the present, to lead the organization in planning and making room
for the future. The less desirable alternative is for the leader to
comfortably work "in" the business (as a technical expert), in which True Course Ministries -

of the sun. Michael Gerber, in his book "The E-myth," illustrates this
practical truth in great detail. This is also a basic principle of

leadership - the enterprise will grow according to the expansive
environment created by the leader(s) working "on" the
business/mission. Patrick McKeever
Pastors and business leaders are sometimes excellent technicians
and some work hard "in" the business/mission. When it comes to
knowing how to work "on" the business/mission of the organization, I
most often note large knowledge and skill gaps in members of the Now in our 8th Year
clergy as well as business leaders. When it comes to these gaps,
There are the few who recognize them and do something
about them through education or delegation
Some recognize them and admit it but are strapped,
time-wise and financially, to do anything about it.
Others are oblivious to them are quite surprised when called
up on the issues.
Some know the gaps and won't admit it.

Test the Water with a Free Session
If you've wondered what it is like to experience coaching, I would like to offer you a no-risk
opportunity to test the water. See the Free Coaching Session offer below.
People engage in coaching experiences because they believe
it will benefit them. To help the client realize benefit, a coach assists and
supports the client in:
Making significant changes
Improving relationships
Becoming better leaders
Making better decisions
Reducing stress
Transitioning to a career they really want and love
Getting ahead professionally
Setting bigger, better, and more rewarding goals
Reaching goals faster
Dealing better with
The complexities of life
The influence of technology
Uncertainty
Simplifying their lives
. . . to name just a few.
Coaches don't tell. Coaches are not oracles or advisers. Coaches lead the client in a process. In
the process, clients make huge discoveries about self and the situation. Sometimes the client makes
big shifts in their ways of being and doing. The coach may have a similar experience.
Some fear that they will somehow be demeaned, embarrassed, or appear inadequate when working
with a coach. A coach is unequivocally non-judgmental, demonstrating unconditional positive regard
for the client. All coaching interactions are confidential.
Jump in! The water's fine.
