HOW TO DESIGN A ROBOT?
(1) DEFINE the PROBLEM and IDENTIFY the OBJECTIVES
• the simplest forms of robots generally consist of 3
mechanical parts:
• Mechanical arm (as needed).
• Transmission mechanism.
• An engine that drives them.
INSIDE THE ROBOT ?
Microcontroller
• is basically the brain of the robot. It is used to collect
the information from various input devices such as
sensors, switches and others. Then it executes a
program and in accordance with it controls the
output devices such as motors, lights
Motor drivers:
• Who will be responsible for controlling and managing
the motors, and the amount of their electrical power in
small robots ranges from 4.5 volts to 36 volts,
• and if the generated voltage rises above the limit,
cooling devices are placed in the
• robot.
.
Motor:
• It is the part responsible for the movement of
the machine, and electric motors are used in
order to secure the movement of the machines
with the highest possible accuracy. The energy
used to move it and also the type of motor
varies according to the purpose and fluid in
which the robot will move.
Sensors :
• which are an additional part related to
perception to help the robot sense
• external influences, for example, some sensors
are able to sense heat and others are
responsible for sensing pressure, rotation, tilt,
electromagnetic or light waves.
.
Batteries and Charging Tool:
• And of course the batteries represent the food of the robot and are responsible for
supplying the robot with the effort required to operate it and are charged as soon as the
power drops in them.
UNDERWATER EXPLORATION
• Robots are a great option for exploring
places that humans cannot reach easily,
like the depths of the ocean! There is a lot
of water pressure deep in the ocean which
means humans cannot go that down and
machines such as submarines can only go
to a certain depth as well
HEALTH CARE
• Robots have changed healthcare a lot. And all for
the better! They can help doctors in performing
operations more precisely, be used as prosthetic
limbs, provide therapy to patients, etc
DA VINCI ROBOT
• that can help surgeons in performing
complex surgeries relating to the heart,
head, neck, and other sensitive areas. There
are other robotic devices that are created
like exoskeletons that can be used to
provide additional support for people
undergoing rehabilitation after spinal injures,
strokes, etc.
MEDICAL ROBOTS :
(1) Surgeon's Assistant Robot:
• Robotic surgery allows many types of
complex operations to be performed with
greater precision, flexibility and control.
•
• Robotic surgery is usually associated with
minimally invasive surgery procedures
performed through small incisions.
(2) STERILIZATION:
There are robots dedicated to sterilization and
disinfection by UV disinfection devices that use
ultraviolet light to kill harmful microorganisms.
These robots are used in places of infection, such as
sections of the Corona virus, which poses a threat to
the lives of human crews, especially the crews
responsible for the sterilization process.
(3) MEDICINES DISTRIBUTION:
• Among the functions of the robots in the hospital
are distributing, storing and re-stocking medicines
automatically, handling laboratory samples,
disinfecting and sterilizing devices and equipment,
reminding patients of when to take medicines,
serving food at meal times, and making sure that
medicines are taken correctly.
DEMINING
• The robot is used in the form of an
armored vehicle in order to remove the
mines, some of which may be
explosive, as some of these robots pull
the mines inside and then make them
explode in an isolated environment.
This robot is given commands by
remote control
AUTOMATIC VACUUM CLEANER
• The robot is also used to help with
household chores, as it is in the form
of a vacuum cleaner that
automatically cleans the floor for a
specified period.
ROBOTS IN INDUSTRY
• Robots have become an essential
element in various industries, as they
are considered an ideal technology in
terms of accuracy, speed, and many
other advantages that make it difficult
to dispense with them at the present
time.
MOBILE ROBOT
• Mobile robots have the capability to move around in their environment and are not
fixed to one physical location. An example of a mobile robot that is in common use
today is (AGV(.
