Application: Perspectives on Criminal Justice There are multiple perspectives of criminal justice and the criminal justice system. Each perspective addresses crimes and criminals from a different point of view. No single perspective dominates the contemporary criminal justice system, and all members of the system bring with them their own perspectives on law enforcement (police), adjudication (courts), and punishment (or corrections). By allowing for different perspectives, the criminal justice system works in conjunction with the trends in criminal activity and the people upholding the criminal justice system. Select two perspectives on criminal justice and consider whether they fall on the crime control or the due process model. Consider the strengths and limitations of the perspectives you selected. Also, think about an example (fictional or historical) to illustrate each of the perspectives you selected. The assignment (2 pages): Due by Sunday 9/06/15. All social action can be seen as rationally motivated, as instrumental action, however much of it may appear to be irrational or non-rational.
General deterrence strategies focus on future behaviors, preventing individuals from engaging in crime or deviant by impacting their rational decision making process. Specific deterrence focuses on punishing known deviants in order to prevent them from ever again violating the specific norms they have broken. This research examines the impact of the integrality of criminal intentions on Indonesia's criminal justice system. This study uses a normative juridical approach to show how the many parts of the criminal justice system—the police, the prosecutors, the courts, and the prisons—all work together to achieve the goals set forth by the numerous statutes that establish them.
The full extent of the pandemic's influence on the American criminal justice system will become apparent as time goes on. These systems will keep on producing both routine and pandemic data for the time being. Research based on these statistics will help define disaster preparedness for years to come, making it of critical importance to the future of the criminal justice system. Researchers who want to use data from the criminal justice system at this time should be aware of several potential data constraints, however. This essay concludes with a consideration of four guidelines that academics should take into account when using data collected during the epidemic, regardless of the area of criminal justice they intend to examine.

In one of the most important contributions to systematic thought about the administration of criminal justice, Herbert Packer articulates the values supporting two models of the justice process. He notes the gulf existing between the "Due Process Model" of criminal administration, with its emphasis on the rights of the individual, and the "Crime Control Model," which sees the regulation of criminal conduct as the most important function of the judicial system.
T
wo models of the criminal process will let us perceive the normative antinomy at the heart of the criminal law. These models are not labeled Is and Ought, nor are they to be taken in that sense. Rather, they represent an attempt to abstract two separate value systems that compete for priority in the operation of the criminal process. Neither is presented as either corresponding to reality or representing the ideal to the exclusion of the other. The two models merely afford a convenient way to talk about the operation of a process whose day-to-day functioning involves a constant series of minute adjustments between the competing demands of two value systems and whose normative future likewise involves a series of resolutions of the tensions between competing claims.
I call these two models the Due Process Model and the Crime Control Model. . . . As we examine the way the models operate in each successive stage, we will raise two further inquiries: first, where on a spectrum between the extremes represented by the two models do our present practices seem approximately to fall; second, what appears to be the direction and thrust of current and foreseeable trends along each such spectrum?
There is a risk in an enterprise of this sort that is latent in any attempt to polarize. It is, simply, that values are too various to be pinned down to yes-or-no answers. The models are distortions of reality. And, since they are normative in character, there is a danger of seeing one or the other as Good or Bad. The reader will have his preferences, as I do, but we should not be so rigid as to demand consistently polarized answers to the range of questions posed in the criminal process. The weighty questions of public policy that inhere in any attempt to discern where on the spectrum of normative choice the “right” answer lies are beyond the scope of the present inquiry. The attempt here is primarily to clarify the terms of discussion by isolating the assumptions that underlie competing policy claims, and examining the conclusions that those claims, if fully accepted, would lead to.

This research examines the impact of the integrality of criminal intentions on Indonesia's criminal justice system. This study uses a normative juridical approach to show how the many parts of the criminal justice system—the police, the prosecutors, the courts, and the prisons—all work together to achieve the goals set forth by the numerous statutes that establish them.
The full extent of the pandemic's influence on the American criminal justice system will become apparent as time goes on. These systems will keep on producing both routine and pandemic data for the time being. Research based on these statistics will help define disaster preparedness for years to come, making it of critical importance to the future of the criminal justice system. Researchers who want to use data from the criminal justice system at this time should be aware of several potential data constraints, however. This essay concludes with a consideration of four guidelines that academics should take into account when using data collected during the epidemic, regardless of the area of criminal justice they intend to examine.

In one of the most important contributions to systematic thought about the administration of criminal justice, Herbert Packer articulates the values supporting two models of the justice process. He notes the gulf existing between the "Due Process Model" of criminal administration, with its emphasis on the rights of the individual, and the "Crime Control Model," which sees the regulation of criminal conduct as the most important function of the judicial system.
T
wo models of the criminal process will let us perceive the normative antinomy at the heart of the criminal law. These models are not labeled Is and Ought, nor are they to be taken in that sense. Rather, they represent an attempt to abstract two separate value systems that compete for priority in the operation of the criminal process. Neither is presented as either corresponding to reality or representing the ideal to the exclusion of the other. The two models merely afford a convenient way to talk about the operation of a process whose day-to-day functioning involves a constant series of minute adjustments between the competing demands of two value systems and whose normative future likewise involves a series of resolutions of the tensions between competing claims.
I call these two models the Due Process Model and the Crime Control Model. . . . As we examine the way the models operate in each successive stage, we will raise two further inquiries: first, where on a spectrum between the extremes represented by the two models do our present practices seem approximately to fall; second, what appears to be the direction and thrust of current and foreseeable trends along each such spectrum?
There is a risk in an enterprise of this sort that is latent in any attempt to polarize. It is, simply, that values are too various to be pinned down to yes-or-no answers. The models are distortions of reality. And, since they are normative in character, there is a danger of seeing one or the other as Good or Bad. The reader will have his preferences, as I do, but we should not be so rigid as to demand consistently polarized answers to the range of questions posed in the criminal process. The weighty questions of public policy that inhere in any attempt to discern where on the spectrum of normative choice the “right” answer lies are beyond the scope of the present inquiry. The attempt here is primarily to clarify the terms of discussion by isolating the assumptions that underlie competing policy claims, and examining the conclusions that those claims, if fully accepted, would lead to.

Capital Punishment and How the Court Process Works
Capital punishments have raised several issues, and there is need to evaluate them in order to assess the practicality and effectiveness of the punishment. In this perspective, this research will be able to evaluate all the four aforementioned issues that relate to the problem of capital punishment in the courts. To this end, the pros and cons of the capital punishment will enable a recommendation in order to address the problem and issues. Critical analysis of all the factors raised will contribute to better investigation of all the listed factors bearing on the problem. Through the discussion of the various issues that affect the capital punishment way of dealing with an offender of heinous acts, the research paper will enable one to shed more light on the available courses of action other that capital punishment in the criminal justice system. Capital punishment in the United States of America’s criminal justice system is not only inconsistent with the available laws of rule of law and order in the country, but it is also in a great way contribute to violations by this same country that is an advocator for adherence of the laid down international laws. This raises one of the main controversies of the laws on capital punishments in some states in United States as it has great implications on the rule of law and international standards that the laws are founded on.
Capital punishment provides a rational way in which the criminal justice system deters recurrence of some high felony crimes such as rape, premeditated murder, torture, and any other serious crimes since the law aims at removing the offender from the society. These arguments provide that the law should guarantee a safety net in which the law minimizes the chances of the crimes being committed again by either the offender of the prospective criminals (Potter & Kappeler, 2002). In this perspective, the laws that encourage the rule of execution are supported by this school of thought that the offenders will be discouraged. Homeless Hounds is a New York not-for-profit charitable corporation that places rescue and shelter dogs in loving homes. The organization grew out of its founder’s desire to save dogs destined for euthanasia in Southern shelters. Operating out of a single location in Oneida County, HH arranges for the transport of dogs from North Carolina and Tennessee to New York. Prior to their arrival, the dogs are given vaccinations, spayed or neutered and tested for heartworm disease. Behavioral tests are occasionally performed, but are rarely documented. Once in New York, the dogs are advertised for adoption via the HH website and its Facebook page. Adoptions cannot be finalized on-line, although applications can be completed and transmitted through the website, which also accepts donations via PayPal.
Kimberly Stevens is a New Hampshire resident with a four year old son who regularly checked the HH website and followed the organization on Facebook.
